This is big news in Russia:
The Los Angeles Times carried an interview with the grandmother of the new Octuplets born in California:
“The babies’ grandmother, who said her daughter already has six young children and never expected the fertility treatment she had received would result in eight more babies.”
OK!
I am happy that all the kids are doing well and the doctors say that it looks like they will all make it.
The reason it is such big news in Russia is that you are lucky to see one child per couple in Russia so something like this (8 kids at once!) has Russians going “What?”.
But I have a question: What was a woman who had 6 kids already doing taking fertility drugs? Obviously she was fertile in the first place.
Talk about having your own army to feed….
