Only -16 and time to walk to get a bus or taxi to Big Village…

This morning I will attempt to get to the Big Village…

I will walk Boza a couple of times and then after it gets light of day, I will walk out of the Tiny Russian Village and get to the Big Village. This is what is called an excursion by Russians. they look at such trips as more than necessary. They look at them as fun and a way of life…

The bitter cold missed us and I am going to take advantage of the good weather. Yes, -16 Celsius (no wind also) is good and perfect walking weather. I was going to walk to another village, but Svetochka implied that I would be better walking to the main highway and taking a bus or taxi. I grumbled and mumbled, but she is right and the choices of food / supplies are better in the Big Village…

Svetochka is coming Friday night to visit and I want to have some goodies for her to eat…

Therefore, it is time for an excursion today… 😉

I will take the camera and add a few pictures later to this post…

Update:

I had a blast, but I was worn out. Made a new friend and got to see my friends in the Big Village at all the stores. The snow was waist high in several spots, but….I trudged through and got to the main highway. At the highway, I had Svetochka call for a taxi and they picked me up. Actually taxi would be incorrect, how about, just say someone we know who will pick you up for some money. Next time I will take a bus though…

The snow across the wheat fields is over a meter deep. Flat and endless. I was lucky that I had a recent plowed road to walk on and the snow was much less there. I hope that they plow again this week. That will make it much easier to get Svetochka when she comes Friday…

Vova has buried his Niva in the middle of a drained lake??? I have not asked, “Why?” and he is trying to ignore that fact of what he did. His friends in the Fish Village will get a tractor out as soon as they can…

Only Bears like me can stomp their way out! 😉

But, “Oh Boy!” I hurt… (See below)

* * * * *

Just last night I finally passed a kidney stone.

Once again, it is the worst thing that I have ever gone through. Maybe a woman and childbirth is worse? But since I am a guy, I cannot compare. Though, I can compare to broken bones, being shot, stabbed and many other wonderful issues of war time fun and normal life as a big bear. The kidney stone issue is the worst…

The only thing that helps is to drink vinegar water. I make a cup of hot tea and pour some vinegar in it, tastes terrible, but it does work and if it does not really work, then who cares? It works for me and that is what counts…

So today I am sore from the battle of the stone, but, I feel a whole bunch better…

“When you’re born you get a ticket to the freak show. When you’re born in America, you get a front row seat.” – George Carlin

You Know?

George Carlin had wisdom. A bit crass at times, but wisdom and he spoke the truth!

Russians are crazy people, but crazy as a Russian is much different than a crazy American. I decided there is sane crazy and there is insane crazy…

Carlin’s quote above tells of both sides of the coin that I am implying…

Russians know they are born into this freak show and they meld with that show and life shows it, in Russia. The Americans have that perfect, wonderful and desired front row seat. But they do not realize that they have the best seat in the house…

There is too much propaganda and politics of control. 24 hours a day in America you are twisted this way and that way. You never, with the exception of just a few people, get to enjoy that freak show…

The sad thing is that we Americans have become the Freak Show!

Time to enjoy the show and not be the main attraction…
