Vietnam sees in Russia “strategic protection” and support in a whole list of areas, including energy and weapons, writes Bloomberg.

The Russian Federation and Vietnam are switching to national currencies when making payments.

In the morning, Vladimir Putin and To Lam began negotiations and have already signed several agreements on cooperation in various fields.

Among the documents signed are agreements on cooperation in the field of education and a memorandum on the creation of a nuclear technology center in Vietnam.

Welcoming Putin, the President of Vietnam noted that he would like to discuss key areas for strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and Vietnam, which will benefit both countries.
Vietnam pursues an independent and peaceful foreign policy, but always considers Russia an important friend.

“We are very glad that under your [Putin’s] leadership, the Russian economy is developing, the lives of the population are improving, and Russia’s position and authority in the international arena are growing,” To Lam noted.
