Hello,
I was drinking my morning cup of coffee and thing about this weekend. This weekend is still going strong. Russia has a long weekend because of the importance of the events around this time of the year.
Another major Holiday in Russia that falls with the International Womens Day is the recognition of a Soviet Hero “Yuri Gagarin”. He was lucky that his birthday fell on March 9, and not a day earlier as most likely the Soviets would never allow a man born on International Women’s Day to become their hero. As luck was with him, he was the first man to go into space and orbit Earth.
