Hero of the Russian Village…

I call him Vova, he likes his name I give him, even if it really is different. I have a hard time announcing his name in truth, so I do the best I can. His name is a derivative of Vladimir, but what I hear is Vova…

The power is on folks as he works and he is trying to keep the power going out again, after the top of the box almost ripped off. He reinstated our power and is covering the top of the box to keep it dry from the rain that he is working in…

I grabbed the camera and snapped some images of him; The storms were terrible that day and we were without power for half a day. Vova finally found a time when it was just misting and he gathered his home made ladder and tools and fixed our power. You can call him crazy, but in the villages, you do what you have too…

It is men like him that keep people from completely going to the dark ages. For though the electric company would be out to fix it, they would be out sometime in the next week, it is all priorities and the big villages get first service. Our village is so tiny and we are on the last to do list…

Many ways to be a hero and Vova is our hero in the village…

Windows to Russia…

P.S. The box is still the same as it was two weeks ago when he fixed it and we still have not seen a power truck to permanently repair the circuit box… 🙂
