This is what Putin expressed in response to a statement that Clinton babbled about while in Georgia… Clinton stated, “We continue to call for Russia to abide by the August 2008 ceasefire commitment signed by President Saakashvili and President Medvedev, including ending the occupation and withdrawing Russian troops from South Ossetia and Abkhazia to their pre-conflict positions. “ You know this line of bull has been recited from the day one and it has become worn out. Can Clinton not come up with something better to say?
Putin is right! Georgia has to communicate with South Ossetia and Abkhazia to make things correct. It is not Russia’s job nor is it America’s job. Georgia has to stand alone and must admit first to the people they attacked, that Georgia was wrong for doing it. For until that happens South Ossetia and Abkhazia will never ever begin to trust Georgia…
My Grandma use to say, “To correct the problem, you must look inside yourself…” She is right!
Gotta love that line above about plucking up their courage…

Russian Premier Vladimir Putin was accused of “cynicism” over recent comments on the August 2008 conflict between Russia and Georgia by a Georgian first deputy foreign minister on Tuesday.
Putin said on Monday that Georgia and South Ossetia should resolve their problems themselves, and not seek solutions from third countries.
The Russian premier was speaking after U. S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had criticized Russia’s decisions to open military bases in South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
“Unfortunately, this is the usual political cynicism of almost the whole political establishment of our big neighbor…We are accustomed to this,” Giorgi Bokeria said.
Long-standing tensions between Russia and the former Soviet republic of Georgia turned violent during a five-day war in August 2008, when Tbilisi attacked South Ossetia, where most residents are Russian passport holders, in an attempt to bring it back under central control.

Seems that they do not want to work in the least with South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Neither Georgia nor America will ever agree with Putin on this, no matter how on point he is. Nobody likes to admit that they were wrong, especially heads of state. Can you imagine the repercussions if Georgia admit fault?
What I love about Putin is that he never minces words, and always gives a carefully thought out speech. Calling these words cynical is simply a way to brush off the blame, but I am sure that very few world leaders (who this speech was more directed at) have any doubt that what Putin said was in any way off.
