Coffee Time:
Our name, “Bourbon Coffee,” originates from the Bourbon varietal of Arabic coffee beans, which has grown wild in Rwanda for over a century.
A UK company has gotten Globus to carry this coffee and it is on sale for 129 rubles a 100 grams. I stretched the budget and got one today. Globus was packed this morning at opening and that is how you can tell easter is coming…
I am sipping a cup right now as I write this article and it is really good. may have to sell my body on the street corners and get more coffee. Except, no one would pay for a grouchy bear! 😉
I will count out my coins and get some more tomorrow. Gotta buy when the price is right…
Spring has sprung:
Mother nature wastes no time in Russia. As soon as Old Man Winter finally goes to sleep, she jumps on the band wagon and starts growing. She has to, for six months is the basic winter in our neck of Russia and if you snooze you lose…. +7 today and it feels like the Bahamas around here…
Ice is melting, the piles of snow to the moon are disappearing and I found our car finally…
I have said very little about what happened in Europe:
I won’t talk (much) about twice being searched and harassed by police. This is while one of the times, six or seven Muslims walked by and called the cops everything but a white boy, while making interesting love signs with their middle fingers. I asked what about them and their language and finger jesters? I was told to shut up or I would regret opening my mouth….so I shut my mouth, jail is no fun…
The cops are scared of the Muslims and that was obvious….I was let go after they discovered I was an American, but they harassed me because they thought I was Russians…
I won’t say much about all the Russians being finger printed (and sometimes actually pictures taken of them. Maybe blood samples next?) at the border crossings and no, not by the Russian side of the border! Jeez people… The European side of the border just plain sucked to get through, Russia was efficient and a breeze. Thank you Russia for making life easier…
I will not say much about the cost of food has gone up twice to three times as much as the last time I was there. Seriously, outrageous….example: 5 € + for a simple McDooddle Big Mac burger. That is over 6$ and climbing. Thus I went to stores and utilized the fridge in the room and ate much cheaper (easily ate twice for the price of one burger)….besides McD’s is not really very good for you…
I will not say much about the hotel I use to love. It has been bought by new owners and has lost its charm. It is now owned by Turkish people and they have even opened a grocery store up across the street….the standards are totally different and now I will look for a new hotel system as I travel…
I will not tell about all that happened, because it was a very poor trip. From 24 hour hate Trump, hate Russia, Hate Iran, Hate China and BBC, CNN and SKY news led the way to the propaganda delights….but I did notice some underlining expressions. The graffiti is becoming sorta, “Time for a change!” as it is spread out over many many walls and doorways…
This sign is also in many doorways. Guards everywhere and cameras to stop you from being an animal… 😉
Some images…
I was alone, help…
Then we lost most of the train for hours… Total of eighteen cars, I was in #2 from the engine…
Two cars only after we crossed the border into Europe….Many Russians were taken off at the border and ?????
That is enough and while I had fun, I also found things very interesting and getting bad. Very unhappy people, just like I said once about Ukraine….it is looking rough and being taken over by immigrants. Literally…
As the police in Europe told me a dozen times, “Move along now, nothing to see here!”
Have a nice day, I am and I also am so happy to be back to my Sweetie in a safe and sound Russia…
That is why I love Russia…
