The French Mistral-class Assult Ship Won The Russian Tender…

According to France-Presse:  France has obtained the international tender to build at least two Mistral-class helicopter-carrying assault ships for Russia. The first ship will be built in Saint-Nazaire with 20%  of the ship being built by Russia.  On the next ship built Russia will have a higher percent of the construction…

As you know following Windows to Russia the Mistral deal has been under discussion for a year at least. The tender was called in October and involved several ships from around the world trying to get that tender to build this assault type ship…

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev told his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy over the phone that France has won a tender to build amphibious assault ships for Russia. (Link)

Russian state-run TV channels should reflect real events without concealing undesirable issues, President Dmitry Medvedev said in a live interview with three of Russia’s leading TV channel general managers on Friday. (Link)

The lower house of the Russian parliament, the State Duma, has approved the first reading of three for the ratification bill of the new Russian-U.S. arms reduction treaty. (Link)
