Things in my life that are different… (1)

I decided to start a new series along with the images of This is Russia. I was given the realization when I pulled out an old coat of mine from America…

I put on my leather jacket (from America) the other day and found myself struggling to zip it up. Then I remembered when I came to Russia and started to use coats made in Russia and found the same issue. At that time twelve (12) years ago, the zipper was backwards to me….Now years later I find the same thing in reverse…

All my coats in my past zipped up using the right hand to make the zip with, then I had to learn to use my left hand to zip with…

Thus, the other day….I was like, “What the hell!”

Strange how little things are different…

Chinese Skynet…

HANGZHOU, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) — The world’s first artificial intelligence (AI) news anchor made “his” debut at the ongoing fifth World Internet Conference in east China’s Zhejiang Province.

The news anchor, based on the latest AI technology, has a male image with a voice, facial expressions and actions of a real person. “He” learns from live broadcasting videos by himself and can read texts as naturally as a professional news anchor.

The AI news anchor was jointly developed by Xinhua News Agency, the official state-run media outlet of China, and Chinese search engine company Sogou.com.

According to Xinhua, “he” has become a member of its reporting team and can work 24 hours a day on its official website and various social media platforms, reducing news production costs and improving efficiency.

Oh my and I want some also…

Super juicy beef brisket on the grill. Recipe from Georges

This is very typical Russian cooking. This is how Vova cooks all the time and I do, when my Svetochka is in the mood to eat and eat and eat…

I would even cut the bread up into little chunks and mix it into the large skillet. But…

Svetochka and I are trying to stay skinny (er) and not eat much bread at all…

So you think I was wrong about, America the Chaos?

Chaos is now officially an American tradition, lifestyle and moralistic base for existence….I have talked about this many times, but even for us Americans, we have reached a new low and lower yet we will go it seems…

As America plays the Chaos game…

and

It is just Chaos and never ends…

and

Empire of Chaos and other coffee thoughts…

I rest my case and hate me all you want for saying it again….America is nothing but Chaos!

Time to wake up and look around…. Bang Bang

No journalism, no morals, no respect, no God and lots of shoot them up. We never left the Wild Wild West: obviously…

Land of Chaos strikes again…

Just rebuilt my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge…

My Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge decided to roll over and die. I lost my ROM section and nothing I could do would work to fix that issue. I then finally after weeks of testing and playing around came to the conclusion that the famous crappy new no lead solder had given out somewhere. (As it is very common, actually way too common!) I was going to try the oven heat method and try to get the motherboard to reconnect at the bad joints and it does work, but I would probably just make things worse… (Like burn down the home front.)

I ordered a rebuilt board from Aliexpress and in a few weeks it came. In fact just yesterday, I got the motherboard. About five thousand rubles ($75) and a year guarantee….Today I installed it…

I used the video above to preform the operation and it worked just fine… 😉

I have to say that Aliexpress is a fabulous company to deal with….and the store I bought from even gave me a new rear cover adhesive free…

Therefore, I am a happy camper and have my favorite phone back. It is slightly nerve racking to take apart a small cell phone with my huge fingers, but just take your time and it will happen. The only thing that I can say is that taking the back cover off was very hard. The glue was strong and I felt like I could break the rear glass cover at anytime. I had a suction cup that helped to give some pull on the back panel and it is a must to do the repair….that rear glass is thin…

It has been a good day and I like repairing computers and cell phones…

A Badge of Shame – LewRockwell

Even so, within days of Raub being seized and forcibly held in a VA psych ward, news reports started surfacing of other veterans having similar experiences. “Oppositional defiance disorder” (ODD) is another diagnosis being used against veterans who challenge the status quo. As journalist Anthony Martin explains, an ODD diagnosis “denotes that the person exhibits ‘symptoms’ such as the questioning of authority, the refusal to follow directions, stubbornness, the unwillingness to go along with the crowd…

SWIFT is past, SPFS is now…

Russia’s money transfer system, developed as an alternative to SWIFT is now more popular than the global network, said Anatoly Aksakov, head of the Russian parliamentary committee on financial markets. He explained that Moscow is already engaged in talks with Chinese, Turkish and Iranian financial regulators on integrating its System for Transfer of Financial Messages (SPFS) with financial messaging systems of those countries.
