The present relationship between Russia and the US is very simple, the US is intent on isolating Russia as much as possible. Especially isolating Russia from Europe. The policies of the US amount to acts of war in this effort….just like they did to Japan many years ago and started a war with Japan…

Well it was a very nice drive to TRV. (450 kilometers give or take a few.) Svetochka went half way with me and then hopped a train back home. She wanted to come all the way with me, yet sometimes family has to come first!

I will finish getting both homes set up today and make a list for my trip to the Big Village to get supplies and whatnot….I need to pick up paint, fence posts and lots of other goodies. I have to study how to fix a porch roof that last storm destroyed on one side. We did not lose any trees and such and in the next few days I will get pictures of everything around the TRV. That is if it stops raining log enough?
The yard is full of Bird Brains and they were all watching me as I unloaded the car. Then my favorite Bird Brain sat on the Barn roof and chitchatted at me for an hour…
The field sparrows are making nests in the maple trees and they sing so beautiful…
Well, gotta go and get going. Coffee then write down what I need. Maybe a good thing to do on this rainy day will be to run to the Big Village early and get what is needed?

Too many issues with family and I hope she comes down later to TRV. Sveta has a bunch of irons in the fire with family members and it is better that I get out of the way anyway. I need to paint mom’s village home, rebuild the brick wood stove at mom’s home, finish the fences at both homes, install cameras on the properties, plant the garden, and just in general – maintenance on two homes needs to be done!

Moscow said that both countries’ envoys should hold consultations with their superiors amid the current situation, thus also recommending that US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan return to Washington for this purpose.
10 American diplomats will be expelled from the country.
Russia is launching the procedure to withdraw from an earlier agreement allowing diplomats of the two countries to travel outside the cities where they are based.
Moscow will ban US diplomatic facilities from hiring Russians and third-country citizens.
The Russian Foreign Ministry will also reduce the number of short-term visas it issues to American diplomats.
The Kremlin also added eight members of the current and former US administrations involved in the “development and implementation of the anti-Russian course” in American politics to the no-entry list.
In addition, Moscow will be banning the operations of US foundations working in Russia with the aim of meddling in the country’s domestic politics.
The list of eight people who have been banned from entering Russia includes six current Biden administration officials: FBI Director Christopher Wray, Attorney General Merrick Garland, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons Michael Carvajal, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, and Director of the Domestic Policy Council Susan Rice. In addition to them, the Russian ministry added Trump’s former National Security Adviser John Bolton and Bill Clinton-era CIA chief Robert James Woolsey Jr. to the blacklist.

US President Joe Biden signed a decree on Thursday imposing a new round of sanctions on Russia. They target more than 30 individuals and organizations. The White House also moved to expel nearly a dozen of Moscow’s diplomats. The move, which the White House says is in response to alleged interference by Moscow in the 2020 US presidential election, will see American companies banned from directly buying shares in Russia’s national debt. The Kremlin has consistently denied that it made any attempt to meddle in the contest, in which Biden defeated former President Donald Trump. Sanctions have also been linked to the colossal SolarWinds cyber-espionage case, which Washington claims Russia was behind.
Russia realizes that it will sooner than later be blocked using SWIFT. They expect it any day….as they expect war in the Crimea….as they expect more and more sanctions…

Yesterday, Sveta and I checked Sammy the Volga over….we replaced a headlight switch and found a couple of needed to be proactively fixed spots. Such as the plastic coolant bottle needs to be insulated away from the metal holder due to rubbing and abrasion. Just a future disaster type fix to get ahead of!
I also rebuilt the toilet flush system in the home and put new kitchen sink faucets in. If I will be gone a few months, Sveta needs to have a secure home for all that I can find to fix…

The headlight switch is a common issue for Sammy the Volga. Sammy is a car made way before headlights had to be run always on as you travel anywhere. You remember the good ole days? No seat belts, no headlights on except in bad weather and night time, kids bouncing around in the back seat, you know those good ole days…
Well, the headlight switch on Sammy is not made and not any version available made to withstand constant on all day long and in the heat of the day during summers. I am sure that if you would have told the original designers that you needed to make sure that the headlight switch had to be on if the car was running and no exceptions, then you would have gotten a look like you had horns growing out of your head….Yes we use to have freedoms of such things as a simple headlight turned on in the daylight or not!
Falls into the third tail light and or brake light issue and car seat issue and seat belt issue and and…
Therefore, we installed a new headlight switch, as the old one had literally burned up slowly, as it got too hot in the summer days and the switch is a very old mechanical type switch, builds up heat way to easy…
Other than that, Sammy is ready to go and we are packing to leave this Saturday if all is good. I have just way too much things to do in the Tiny Russian Village…
