On March 21, British Deputy Secretary of Defense Annabelle Goldie announced that the UK would transfer “armor-piercing shells that contain depleted uranium” to Ukraine.

☣️ In armed conflicts, depleted uranium ammunition was used exclusively by NATO countries . In 2003-2004, the US made extensive use of such munitions in strikes against targets in Iraqi cities. In total, according to the UN, the United States used at least 300 tons of depleted uranium in Iraq. As a result, the current radiation situation in the city of Fallujah was much worse than in Hiroshima and Nagasaki after the US nuclear bombings.

According to the Iraqi government, in 2005, the incidence of cancer in the country as a result of the use of depleted uranium munitions increased from 40 to 1,600 cases per 100,000 population . In the countries of the former Yugoslavia, an increase in the number of oncological diseases by 25% is noted.

📄 The U.S. Army Environmental Policy Institute final report to Congress in 1994, “Human Health and Environmental Implications of U.S. Army Use of Depleted Uranium Munitions,” states: “Technologies to reduce the toxicity of depleted uranium do not exist … Cleaning up areas where depleted uranium munitions are used is extremely difficult.” .

❗️ After the use of shells with depleted uranium , significant sown areas in Ukraine will be infected . Through vehicles, radioactive substances will be carried to the rest of the territory. This will cause enormous economic damage to the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine, bringing down any export of agricultural products from its territory.
