Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation (13–19 July 2024)
From 13 to 19 July 2024, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation delivered 11 group strikes by high-precision weaponry and attack unmanned aerial vehicles at the enemy’s aviation bases, objects of power infrastructure ensuring operation of the Ukrainian military industrial enterprises, AFU air defence and electronic warfare means.
Also strikes were delivered at deployment areas of the AFU units, echelons with weaponry and military hardware, ammunition depots including with those supplied by Western countries, and materiel.
The goal of the strikes have been achieved. All the assigned targets have been engaged.
Over the past week, units of the Sever Group of Forces improved the situation along the front line.
Losses were inflicted on manpower and hardware of two mechanised brigades, one assault brigade, one motorised rifle brigade, two marines brigades, and four territorial defence brigades.
In addition, 23 counter-attacks launched by the enemy’s assault detachments have been repelled.
The AFU losses amounted to up to 1,370 Ukrainian troops, five tanks, 25 motor vehicles, 28 field artillery howitzers, including seven foreign-made 155-mm howitzers, and seven electronic warfare stations.
As a result of successful actions, units of the Zapad Group of Forces improved the tactical situation and inflicted losses on formations of four AFU mechanised brigades, one tank brigade, two infantry brigades, and three territorial defence brigades. Six counter-attacks launched by the enemy’s assault detachments were repelled.
The AFU losses amounted to up to 3,920 Ukrainian troops, one tank, eight armoured fighting vehicles, including three U.S.-made M113 armoured personnel carriers, 46 motor vehicles, 38 field artillery howitzers, including 12 155-mm howitzers produced by the NATO countries.
Moreover, 30 field ammunition depots and six electronic warfare stations were destroyed.
Units of the Yug Group of Forces took more advantageous lines and inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of three AFU mechanised brigades, one motorised infantry brigade, two airmobile brigades, and two air assault formations.
In addition, 10 counter-attacks launched by the enemy’s assault detachments have been repelled.
The AFU losses amounted to up to 3,930 Ukrainian troops, one tank, 14 armoured fighting vehicles, including two U.S.-made M113 armoured personnel carriers and three U.S.-made HMMWV armoured fighting vehicles, 48 motor vehicles, 71 field artillery guns (including 28 howitzers produced in Western countries.
Ten electronic warfare stations and 24 field ammunition depots were destroyed.
As a result of active actions, units of the Tsentr Group of Forces liberated Yuriyevka (Donetsk People’s Republic).
Losses were inflicted on formations of three AFU mechanised brigades, two motorised infantry brigades, one infantry brigade, one air assault formation, and two territorial defence brigades.
Thirty-eight counter-attacks launched by the AFU units were repelled.
The AFU losses amounted to up to 2,215 Ukrainian troops, 11 armoured fighting vehicles, including one U.S.-made Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, two U.S.-made M113 armoured personnel carriers and one MaxxPro armoured fighting vehicle, 26 motor vehicles, and 27 field artillery howitzers.
As a result of active actions, units of the Vostok Group of Forces liberated Urozhaynoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).
Losses were inflicted on manpower and hardware of five AFU formations, three territorial defence brigades, and one national guard brigade. Five counter-attacks launched by the AFU units were repelled.
The AFU losses amounted to up to 925 Ukrainian troops, one tank, three armoured fighting vehicles, including two U.S.-made M113 armoured personnel carriers, 35 motor vehicles, 26 field artillery guns, including 19 howitzers and self-propelled artillery systems (155-mm calibre) produced by the NATO countries.
Units of the Dnepr Group of Forces inflicted losses on formations of two AFU mechanised brigades, one mountain assault brigade, one marine brigade, and three territorial defence brigades.
The AFU losses amounted to up to 715 Ukrainian troops, two tanks, 37 motor vehicles, and 21 field artillery howitzers. Nine electronic warfare stations and 11 field ammunition depots were destroyed.
Over the past week, air defence units shot down three MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force, eight U.S.-made ATACMS operational-tactical missiles, 10 French-made Hammer guided aerial bombs, one S-200 surface-to-air guided missile converted to hit ground targets, 44 HIMARS MLRS projectiles, 305 unmanned aerial vehicles, including 94 in airspace of the western regions of the Russian Federation.
Units of the Black Sea Fleet wiped out 10 uncrewed surface vessels in the Black Sea waters.
Over the past week, 19 Ukrainian servicemen have surrendered on the line of contact.

In total, 630 airplanes and 277 helicopters, 27,841 unmanned aerial vehicles, 552 air defence missile systems, 16,611 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,379 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 12,059 field artillery howitzers and mortars, as well as 23,829 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.
