Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation (23 July 2024)

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.

Units of the Sever Group of Forces inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of the AFU 71st Jaeger Brigade, 107th, 127th territorial defence brigades, and 13th National Guard Brigade near Staritsa, Krugloye, Volchansk, and Liptsy (Kharkov region).

Three counter-attacks launched by assault detachments of the AFU 42nd Mechanised Brigade, 57th Motorised Infantry Brigade, and 92nd Air Assault Brigade were repelled.

The AFU losses amounted to up to 170 Ukrainian troops, five motor vehicles, one Polish-made 155-mm self-propelled artillery system, two U.S.-made 155-mm M777 howitzers, one 152-mm Msta-B howitzer, three 152-mm D-20 howitzers, one 122-mm D-30 howitzer, and one field ammunition depot.

Units of the Zapad Group of Forces improved the tactical situation along the front lines and inflicted losses on formations of the AFU 43rd, 63rd, 116th mechanised brigades, 4th Tank Brigade, 3rd Assault Brigade, and 12th Azov Special Operations Brigade near Sinkovka, Zagoruykovka, Novoyegorovka (Kharkov region), Torskoye (Donetsk People’s Republic), and Serebryansky forestry.

Two counter-attacks launched by units of the AFU 66th Mechanised Brigade and 112th Territorial Defence Brigade were repelled.

The AFU losses amounted to up to 490 Ukrainian troops, one tank, one U.S.-made M113 armoured personnel carrier, eight motor vehicles, one U.S.-made 155-mm M198 howitzer, one 152-mm Msta-B howitzer, one 152-mm D-20 howitzer, one 122-mm D-30 howitzer, one U.S.-made 105-mm M119 howitzer, one UK-made L-119 105-mm howitzer, and two field ammunition depots.

As a result of active actions, units of the Yug Group of Forces liberated Ivano-Daryevka (Donetsk People’s Republic) and took more advantageous lines.

Losses were inflicted on manpower and hardware of the AFU 23rd, 24th, 30th, 53rd, 93rd mechanised brigades, 5th Assault Brigade, 10th Mountain Assault Brigade, 46th, 81st airmobile brigades, 114th, and 117th territorial defence brigades near Kalinin, Verkhnekamenskoye, Antonovka, Krasnogorovka, Konstantinovka, Zaliznyanskoye, and Chasov Yar (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 750 Ukrainian troops, one Kozak armoured fighting vehicle, and six motor vehicles.

In the course of counter-battery warfare, one Grad MLRS combat vehicle, four 152-mm D-20 howitzers, one U.S.-made 155-mm M198 howitzer, one 122-mm D-30 howitzer, and two U.S.-made 105-mm M119 howitzers were neutralised.

Moreover, two Anklav-N electronic warfare stations, two U.S.-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery warfare radar stations, and six AFU field ammunition depots were destroyed.

Units of the Tsentr Group of Forces improved the tactical situation and inflicted losses on formations of the AFU 31st, 41st, 47th mechanised brigades, 25th Airborne Brigade, and 109th Territorial Defence Brigade near Toretsk, Dimitrov, Grodovka, Rozovka, Kamishevka, and Novosyolovka Pervaya (Donetsk People’s Republic).

Six counter-attacks launched by assault detachments of the AFU 32nd, 53rd, 151st mechanised brigades, 68th Jaeger Brigade, and 95th Air Assault Brigade were repelled.

The AFU losses amounted to more than 405 Ukrainian troops, three tanks, including one M1A1 Abrams tank, three armoured fighting vehicles, two pickup trucks, one 155-mm Bogdana self-propelled artillery system, one 152-mm Msta-B howitzer, one 122-mm Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, one 122-mm D-30 howitzer, one 100-mm Rapira anti-tank gun, and three field ammunition depots.

Units of the Vostok Group of Forces inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of the AFU 72nd Mechanised Brigade, 37th Marines Brigade, 129th Territorial Defence Brigade, and 17th National Guard Brigade near Vodyanoye, Vremevka, Prechistovka, Makarovka, and Razdolnoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 115 Ukrainian troops, seven motor vehicles, one UK-made 155-mm FH-70 towed howitzer, one U.S.-made 155-mm M777 howitzer, and one 152-mm D-20 howitzer.

Units of the Dnepr Group of Forces inflicted losses on formations of the AFU 65th Mechanised Brigade, 141st Infantry Brigade, 128th Mountain Assault Brigade, and 126th Territorial Defence Brigade near Novodanilovka, Novoandreyevka (Zaporozhye region), and Tokaryovka (Kherson region).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 110 Ukrainian troops, eight motor vehicles, one U.S.-made 155-mm M777 howitzer, one U.S.-made 105-mm M119 howitzer, one Bukovel-AD electronic warfare station, and one field ammunition depot.

Operational-Tactical and Army Aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Groups of Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation destroyed one ST68 mobile radar station for detecting and tracking low-altitude targets, one UAV workshop, as well as engaged AFU manpower and hardware in 138 areas.

Air defence units shot down three French-made Hammer guided aerial bombs, 15 U.S.-made HIMARS MLRS projectiles, 151 unmanned aerial vehicles, including 82 unmanned aerial vehicles over the territory of the Russian Federation.

In total, 630 airplanes and 278 helicopters, 28,269 unmanned aerial vehicles, 554 air defence missile systems, 16,638 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,382 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 12,294 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 23,977 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.
