UFL-2M (laser installation)
UFL-2M is a laser installation for experiments on controlled thermonuclear fusion with inertial plasma confinement. It is being created in Sarov by specialists from VNIIEF. 192 laser beams of radiation with a wavelength of 0.53 μm, generated by a solid-state laser on neodymium glass, will be introduced into the interaction chamber from all sides. The total energy supplied to the target will be 4.6 MJ. The start of operation of the installation is scheduled for 2022.
