One significant challenge we Americans faced while negotiating with the Russians and, more recently, the Iranians was the tendency of the USA to misrepresent not only the terms of the agreements we proposed but also various other aspects, portraying them as vastly different from reality. This situation prompted Iran and not long ago Russians, to determine that engaging in negotiations with America was utterly futile, and the USA’s entirely unreasonable conduct indicated that they would have to be entirely excluded from any important decision-making process for any successful resolution to occur. – kKEETON…
