At a Glance – Since the 1980s, the United States has invested considerable resources to develop and field ballistic missile defenses to protect the U.S. homeland from attack by long-range ballistic missiles. In recent years, concerns have arisen that another type of weapon—land-attack cruise missiles (LACMs)—may also pose a threat to the U.S. homeland. Unfortunately, the systems that the U.S. military has deployed to protect the United States from ballistic missile warheads that fly high above the atmosphere are ill-suited to counter LACMs, which fly close to Earth’s surface. This Congressional Budget Office report examines the potential for LACM attacks against the United States and the types of systems that might be fielded to provide a cruise missile defense with nationwide coverage. Such coverage would be analogous to that provided by national ballistic missile defenses.

Other words: The USA has virtually no chance to intercept even conventional weapon missiles, much less nuke level missiles. The fallacy by so many is that the USA is impenetrable and well guarded and that is exactly what it is, a fallacy!

🇷🇺 In the rehabilitation and education centre established on the basis of a branch of the Vishnevskyi Hospital in Moscow, certificates on completion of an additional professional training course were awarded to servicemen-participants of the special military operation.

▫️State Secretary – Deputy Defence Minister of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Pankov, presented the retraining certificates and state awards to the servicemen.

▫️The new specialties will allow servicemen who have been wounded, resulting in limitations in further military service due to health reasons, to continue serving in new military positions in organisations of the Russian Ministry of Defence.

▫️ The retraining of servicemen is just one element of the Russian Ministry of Defence’s large-scale programme for the social rehabilitation of wounded servicemen.

▫️The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation in Ukraine.

💥High-precision air-based missiles of the Russian Aerospace Forces have hit 21 areas of concentration of AFU manpower and military equipment during the day.

✈️💥Operational-tactical, army and unmanned aviation have hit 37 areas of Ukrainian manpower and military equipment concentration.

▫️The attacks have resulted in the elimination of more than 360 nationalists and 49 weapons and military equipment including 1 detection and airspace control radar station in Slavyansk, Donetsk People’s Republic.

▫️Also 13 Ukrainian tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, 1 Osa-AKM anti-aircraft missile system have been destroyed near Bakhmut, as well as 2 mortar batteries, 2 Grad multiple rocket launchers, 8 artillery mounts, 26 special vehicles, and 4 missile and artillery weapon depots near Soledar, Dzerzhinsk, Yakovlevka and Bakhmut.

💥Russian air defence means have shot down 3 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles near Ryasnaya, Krutaya Balka, Donetsk People’s Republic and Dmitrovka, Kharkov Region overnight. 3 Uragan multiple-launch rockets have been also intercepted over Petropolie, Kamenka, Kharkov Region, and Novoselovka Vtoraya, Donetsk People’s Republic.

💥Missile troops and artillery have hit 26 command posts, 122 AFU artillery and mortar batteries at firing positions, 537 areas of AFU manpower and military equipment concentration, as well as 5 ammunition depots. 1 AFU unmanned aerial vehicle control post near Pervomaiskoe in Nikolaev Region has been destroyed.

📊In total, 186 Ukrainian aircraft and 129 helicopters, 1,087 unmanned aerial vehicles, 328 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,386 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 462 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,760 field artillery and mortars, as well as 3,376 units of special military vehicles were destroyed during the operation.

Сараевцы попрощались с воинами, героически погибшими в ходе специальной военной операции на Украине

27 мая в Сараевском районе в последний путь проводили гвардии младшего сержанта Елманова Михаила Сергеевича и гвардии сержанта Булатова Вадима Алиевича, служивших в Рязанском парашютно-десантном полку. Воины погибли при выполнении боевой задачи в ходе специальной военной операции на Украине, с разницей всего в один день:

Булатов – 19 мая, Елманов – 20 мая.

В первой половине дня прощались с Елмановым Михаилом, его похороны состоялись на Кривском кладбище, во второй половине – с Булатовым Вадимом, его похоронили в Алексеевке. Обе траурные церемонии сопровождали курсанты Рязанского воздушно-десантного училища имени Маргелова и военный оркестр. Как дорогую реликвию несли они портреты и награды погибших.

Попрощаться с героями и выразить соболезнования родным и близким приехали глава Сараевской районной администрации Виктор Петрович Воронков, заместитель начальника главного управления по взаимодействию с федеральными территориальными органами Рязанской области Владимир Александрович Бабич, начальник военного комиссариата по Ухоловскому, Сараевскому и Сапожковскому районам Наталья Петровна Репкина. А еще – главы сельских поселений, друзья, знакомые, много неравнодушных людей, кому дорога память о защитниках нашего Отечества.

Заместитель командира по вооружению 3-го парашютно-десантного батальона 137 полка Юрий Николаевич Кочетов, заместитель командира батальона по военно-политической работе Рязанского высшего десантного училища гвардии майор Артем Тихонов, отметили беспримерное мужество и отвагу героев, их беззаветное служение Родине.

Троекратные ружейные залпы почетного военного караула в память о погибших заставили всколыхнуться округу и содрогнуться людские сердца.

Saraevsky district’s residents said goodbye to the soldiers who died heroically during a special military operation in Ukraine

On May 27, in the Saraevsky district, guards junior sergeant Mikhail Sergeevich Elmanov and guards sergeant Vadim Alievich Bulatov, who served in the Ryazan parachute regiment, saw off their last journey. The soldiers died while performing a combat mission during a special military operation in Ukraine, with a difference of only one day:

In the first half of the day they said goodbye to Mikhail Elmanov, his funeral took place at the Krivsky cemetery, in the afternoon – with Vadim Bulatov, he was buried in Alekseevka. Both mourning ceremonies were accompanied by cadets of the Ryazan Airborne School named after Margelov and a military band. As an expensive relic, they carried portraits and awards of the dead.

The head of the Saraevsky regional administration Viktor Petrovich Voronkov, the deputy head of the main department for interaction with the federal territorial bodies of the Ryazan region Vladimir Alexandrovich Babich, the head of the military commissariat for the Ukholovsky, Saraevsky and Sapozhkovsky districts Natalya Petrovna Repkina came to say goodbye to the heroes and express condolences to relatives and friends. And also – the heads of rural settlements, friends, acquaintances, many caring people who cherish the memory of the defenders of our Fatherland.

🛠 Soldiers repair weapons and military equipment in the field. In order to get the equipment back into service as quickly as possible, specialists apply the modular repair methodology by replacing faulty units with serviceable ones from the repair stock, or removed from trophy AFU equipment.

◽️This method of repair can significantly reduce the time taken to return malfunctioning armaments back into service.

◽️ After restoration, the equipment returns to its formations and military units.
