Roads are paths and the roads we take are the most important decisions we make as we go through life. Nails are anchor points on these paths…
But the road to where I am at right now was strewn with terrible decisions and stupid moves and many of them tried to bury me…
It is interesting to think, or at least I think it is:
Many times I say to myself, “If I did not do that when younger and if I had just not gone that path and if and if and if!” I realize that I would never had found Sveta. Everything that happened in my life had to follow the path I took and I had to do all the stupid things I did to get on this path that I am following.
It does make you think about what, who and how our lives are controlled and how our decisions as we live our life affect how our future will unfold. If you married so and so, instead of so and so? Would you be where you are today?
I became understanding that everything I do and did up to this very second is shaping the future as I live life. Change one thing in your past (Who you married, that job you took, that beer you drank, that, that, that and so on.) and very likely your future would be (Actually without a doubt would be.) unrecognizable to you…
Life is like a nail to hold that board in place:
I use to drive a nail and act like it was final. I drove it all the way and set it into the board with that final dimple imprint deeply and solid. Somewhere along the way; I saw the error of my ways. If I drove that nail half way and looked a bit harder, I could easily adjust what I was doing. Was the board in the correct place? Was it going to be level? Lots of whats…
Youth has a problem driving nails and we like to hammer at the nail until it does not have a chance of being removed easily, or without doing a bunch of damage…

When I chose a path now:
I might walk it a hundred meters and then stop to listen to the birds and smell the flowers. If that path is silent and the flowers are all dead. Maybe turning around and going back to the fork in the road is the best option?

My nail, has been driven too far, pulled out, straightened, re-hammered and washed and repeated so many times that I have no idea how it can still be used. But Svetochka seems to know how and for that I am thankful…
