Fluorescent Bulbs Hit a Wall of Grouchy People in Russia…

It seems that Russia had plans just like the rest of the world. Of phasing out incandescent bulbs. I remember in 2009 hearing about said plans. They went something like…

* Three-step plan to phase out standard bulbs… (I have heard that things have been pushed back to 2012?)
* Ban on 100-watt bulbs from 2011, 70-watt from 2013. rest by 2014…
* Designed to save energy… (But your eyesight goes to hell!)
* Mirrors European Union plan… (Whoopee – that makes it alright!)

Well it seems that the best laid plans of “mice and men” had issues with the fact that they want to tell people to buy 150+ ruble price light bulbs when you can get them for 2 or 3 rubles each. People in Russia wanted to step on the “mice” in charge of said bulb conversion…

Now to be fair the Fluorescent Bulb does last longer and is more energy efficent. But they just plain suck in all other aspects. From light quality to serious danger when broken…

So at the French store Auchan. the Walmart equivalent for Russia. Incandescent bulbs can be bought for around 2.5 rubles each, I bought 20 bulbs last time I was there and realized now that I should have bought a truck load of them. I think next time I am there, I will buy about 100,000 of them and store them… 🙂

Then when Russia decides to do something really stupid (As Russia will given the time!) and go against the people wishes. (By removing the cheap bulb from the country.) I will be rich because I can sell them all at a higher price. I just have to be willing to sit on them for a few years because Russia will do the “stupid” thing…

Now don’t get me wrong. I am a believer in fluorescent tubes in mass quantities all over the ceiling. They have always given me headaches but I live with it due to longevity. Being in corporate business and food service you get to change a lot of these type of bulbs. But I will say that disposal makes the usage very border line for normal households. Fun is the word, in breaking any fluorescent bulb and that leads to big issues…

Now: The world needs to get off this “high horse” of, telling the people what they should buy and not buy! Why do we not just have them both and let the people decide what they want through natural procession. Is that so hard to do? Or can the people not be trusted to do what is wanted in the eyes of the controllers?

Hear that Russia?

The West is ready to invade Libya: Voice of Russia!

by Balayeva Yelena

Britain may lead a military operation against Col.Muammar Gaddafi. Prime Minister David Cameron is demonstrating a profound insight into the situation in the Middle East and a zealous support for austerity sanctions or even a military invasion of Libya.

David Cameron has been dubbed “Blair’s heir” for the tough foreign policy he borrowed from Tony Blair, who without blinking an eye backed the US military campaign against Iraq. Now, Mr.Cameron is ready to lead a campaign against Libya.

Top British strategists are concerned over Cameron’s transformation into a belligerent leader after his crucial role in slashing defense spending and setting the deadline for troops withdrawal from Afghanistan. Now, he is in daily contact with the US president to secure the resignation of Muammar Gaddafi. And encouraged by David Cameron, the EU’s Foreign Minister Baroness Ashton is meeting with NATO officials to discuss a no-fly zone over Libya.  Read More >>>

Boy I have to tell you that the West is frothing at the bit to attack Libya…

This could have all been solved and placated a week ago. By talking it out…

The leash may break at any second. I would say when they get enough firepower in place it will happen. The West has been exceptionally quiet today on the news about Libya. That means something if you just think…

Maybe if enough of us keep pointing at the West the West will settle down and think about its mistakes in all this…

Muammar Gaddafi’s Son Saif al-Islam: Quote of the Day…

“One month ago [Western countries] were sooo nice, so nice like pussycats,” Saif says in a contemptuous sing-song tone. “Now they want to be really aggressive like tigers. [But] soon they will come back, and cut oil deals, contracts. We know this game.” (Link)

From Saif al-Islam

Hummm! That gives you something to think about…

Now Lybia is being Attacked…

In an interview with Reuters news agency, Gaddafi’s son Saif al-Islam said:

Libya is preparing full-scale military action to crush its rebellion and will not surrender even if Western powers intervene in the conflict, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi’s most prominent son said on Thursday.

“It’s time for liberation. It’s time for action. We are moving now,” Saif al-Islam Gaddafi told Reuters in an interview.

Asked if the government was preparing to step up its military campaign, he said: “Time is out now. It’s time for action … We gave them two weeks (for negotiations).”

Speaking in unusually tough language, the London-educated younger Gaddafi said Libya would defeat the rebels, even if Western powers intervened.

“We will never ever give up. We will never ever surrender. This is our country. We fight here in Libya,” said Saif al-Islam, who has been described as the Western-friendly face of Libya.

“The Libyan people, we will never ever welcome NATO, we will never ever welcome Americans here. Libya is not a piece of cake.”

“WE WILL FIGHT TO THE END”

Now a Major offensive underway by Gaddafi:

“We’ve been wondering for the last few days about why Gaddafi has not employed his full forces, and today we’ve seen those forces in action,” reported Al Jazeera’s Tony Birtley, who is in Ras Lanuf…

“We were caught right in the middle as his forces out-flanked, and then out-bombed and out-shot the opposition forces. There was sustained aerial and artillery and mortar bombardment, and then following in by a flanking movement…

“There have been a number of casualties. We’ve seen trucks going along the highway, but that’s being shelled by Gaddafi forces all the way along. I counted … 50 shells falling…

Looks like Qaddafi has unleashed hell, finally. I had said that nothing much up too now was going on and that Qaddafi was giving them around two weeks before the fire from hell rained down… (Check this Link for the first article that I did and there are a whole bunch more from where that came from…) (Google Search Link)

So all the lying that the Western world has been doing will now come to fruit. They backed the opposition. They gave hope where hope should never have been. They interfered where no Westerner should tread…

Are you happy?

Update 03/11/2011: Thursday was a bloody day in Libya. It seems that the opposition has scattered with the breezes. Still there but drifting. Many more would have died except they were smart and ran. Qaddafi is said to be going to take the East Libya back from the opposition. It is time for the interference in Libya business to end. Like Muammar Gaddafi’s powerful son Saif al-Islam tells TIME:

If Saif’s prediction proves right, the West’s decision to back the rebels could leave it shut out of Libya, with Gaddafi still installed in Tripoli. Yet Saif believes the West will once again court Libya if his father survives in power, even after blunt declarations from U.S. President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and other leaders that Gaddafi should go. After all, Gaddafi has endured years of being a pariah, isolated from the West under heavy sanctions. “One month ago [Western countries] were sooo nice, so nice like pussycats,” Saif says in a contemptuous sing-song tone. “Now they want to be really aggressive like tigers. [But] soon they will come back, and cut oil deals, contracts. We know this game.”

The West is stupid…

Starting to Look Like the West Will Cross the Rubicon River…

“Roman law forbade any general from crossing the Rubicon River!” I loved Roman history and studied it a lot. Caesar crossed that River. I use to think of that saying, when things happened in the field that required going against the grain and proper flow of command…

It means (at least to me) the point of no return. It means that once you cross that line (what ever it may be) you may not ever turn back and you better know what you are doing…

Caesar rallied his men with a heart felt speech and they followed him to the heart of Italy…

I am starting to see that point of no return happening in the world right now. Once that river is crossed by the West over Libya, there will be no saying, “Excuse me but we made a mistake.” But that will not happen even when we realize the mistake. Remember that you can cross the line and never attack the country. The fact is that you can still cross the boundaries with intentions…

We crossed that line in Iraq and Afghanistan and have found out that it was a huge mistake that is costing the World her peoples futures financially…

I maybe wrong but I think that the West is within a few days of striking in some form. Be it from verbal abuse to crossing the border…

The big four NATO powers England, France, United States and Germany are all in synchronization on this aspect. But what they will do in or around Libya is still anyone’s guess. Germany seems to be fluttering on issues though and America has already said we will do what everyone else does…

They have called a NATO meeting and it is in process as of right now. At least that is what I understand. When this meeting is done we will see the fruits of the process. I do know that anything that is done, just leaves the door open for total disaster to ensue…

They may even not bother with the UN because the UN will be vetoed by Russia and China…

NATO is a Western world demon and so it is fitting that they all cross the Rubicon River together in their desire to save Libya from a mad man… 🙂

101 Billionaires in Russia…

Fifteen Russian tycoons are among world’s 100 richest people, while the total number of billionaires in Russia grew to 101 from 62 last year mainly due to a recent boom in prices for commodities, Forbes magazine said…

And the Rich get Richer…

Libya’s crisis has Egyptian roots…

Vladimir Akhmedov, a Moscow-based Middle East expert with the Institute of Oriental Studies. What happened in Libya was seriously connected with the events in Egypt. Libya was very tightly connected to Egypt in the framework of cooperation between special services, as far as exchange of intelligence information, etc, Suleiman’s ministry, essentially. This was a strategic depth in Africa, in the north of Africa, in Egypt, under Mubarak and his regime. And when the revolution took place there, talk about the events in Libya started. They really occurred one after the other: on the 11th Mubarak stepped down and the revolution essentially started on the 17th, or on the 15th by some other accounts. So these are connected from the point of view of cooperation between special services go, they were really ensuring security for each other. After everything changed in Egypt, it would really have been quite strange if everything didn’t change in Libya…

Libya: Boom Boom Boom Beat Them Drums…

Time Magazine has written a dozy of a propaganda article. They just made it clear that they know that al-Qaeda is involved now and in the future and they give why we must stand strong to counter such a issue and future issues from that involvement… (Boom Boom Boom – Beat Them Drums…)

Al Qaeda’s first argument against the U.S. is that it supports the tyrannies of the Arab world as they oppress their people.

That is a pretty fair argument by al Qaeda because it is true. But now lets not let that little issue stand in the way… (Boom Boom Boom – Beat Them Drums…)

Now the U.S. has the opportunity to break the dysfunctional dynamic that produces anti-American hatred and violence. The Obama Administration has properly aligned itself with the hopes and aspirations of the Arab people, and it has called for governments in the region to engage in serious reform. But right now all these efforts have been sidelined. Libya is burning. Its people rose, and the tyrant gunned them down. Unless something changes, Muammar Qaddafi and his sons will be able to reassert control over the country amid a mass slaughter of its civilians.

Damn that Qaddafi – he is a real party pooper. Now remember you must rally around our great leader (Obama) because we would not want to have him humiliated… (Boom Boom Boom – Beat Them Drums…)

This would be a terrible outcome. President Obama has made it unambiguously clear that he wants Qaddafi to step down. The U.S. is actively seeking his ouster. To have him survive would be a humiliation for Washington at a moment and in a region where its words still have great impact. It would also send a disastrous signal to the other rulers of the region — in Syria, Algeria, Iran — that Mubarak made a mistake and that the way to stay in office is to engage in mass slaughter, scare the U.S. away and wait out the sanctions and isolation. America would lose its opportunity to align with the rising forces of the Arab world.

So Mubarak was a good boy and rolled over when he should have? So next at the very least because Qaddafi was a bad boy. We should… (Boom Boom Boom – Beat Them Drums…)

Giving arms, food, logistical help, intelligence and other such tools to the Libyan opposition would boost its strength and give it staying power.

and the finale is… (Boom Boom Boom – Beat Them Drums…)

The best way to prevent al-Qaeda from turning Libya into an area of strength would be to have the fighting end — with Qaddafi’s defeat. So let’s help the Libyan opposition do it…

Why there is that al Qaeda word again. Looks like they might be involved in all this…

Go ahead and read the article. It is what you want to hear and believe…

Go ahead because while we Boom Boom Boom – Beat the drum, time is running out because we should be getting in there and talking to Qaddafi with the opposition like Chavez asked everyone to do…

We are wrong but we will be made to be correct by actions of all…

Go ahead and Boom Boom Boom – Beat Them Drums…
