Is this the beginning of the death of NATO?
by Dan-Viggo Bergtun
It is an unpleasant truth that few in the Norwegian public dare to say out loud, but which today lies open to those who actually follow geopolitics without a filter. NATO is not about to weaken. NATO is about to die. Not with a bang, but with a political rot that started long before Ukraine and is now bursting into full public view. What we see today are the contours of the end of an alliance that is no longer capable of solving a single task it claims to have been created for.
Over twenty years ago, I sat at NATO headquarters in Brussels, briefing Kai Eide, then Norway’s ambassador to NATO. His words have remained with us ever since. “NATO will not survive a strategic defeat in Afghanistan ,” he said. ” That would destroy the alliance’s credibility.”
In retrospect, we know how accurate that was. Afghanistan was not just a military collapse. It was a political crash that revealed that the alliance has no capacity for strategy, coordination, or long-term planning. An empire fell into the sand without dignity, and what was left was an alliance that suddenly lacked identity.
Many, including myself, believed that Jens Stoltenberg would be able to breathe new life into NATO after its failure. That he would renew the alliance, build strength and create direction. Instead, his generation of leadership became the very confirmation of decay. He raised the rhetoric, but not the reality. He called for unity, while the United States made all the decisions. He talked about peace, while consistently blocking diplomacy. He promised strength, but left behind an alliance that does not even have a place at the table when the end of the war is to be discussed.
Most revealingly, both Putin and the US are now completely bypassing NATO on the issue of peace in Ukraine. Russia sees NATO as a party to the war. The US sees NATO as a logistical organization. Neither sees the alliance as a political force. This is not a coincidence. It is the result of decades of failed strategy, blind obedience, and a leadership that has replaced realpolitik with slogans.
NATO has been reduced to an apparatus for arms transfers, not an institution for security. The alliance’s members no longer follow their own interests, but American directives. Europe has lost its geopolitical autonomy. And when the final negotiations in Ukraine one day come, NATO will be as absent as a museum piece. A relic from a time when the West believed it could still rule the world.
The question is not whether NATO will survive this century. The question is whether NATO will even survive the next decade. When an alliance loses its ability to create peace, loses the respect of its adversaries, loses relevance among its own members, and loses its connection to the global balance of power, then the death process has already begun.
And that is exactly where NATO stands now. Not as a shield for the EU and Europe, but as a system that no longer understands that the world has moved on.
This is not a crisis for NATO. It is the end.

We love Turkey thigh meat and buy it already cut off the bone. Zucchini and red peppers are the cat’s meow. Bread dressing made from garlic croutons and overnight milk soaked bread, plus two eggs. Giant sliced mushrooms to round out the main dish…
Wrapped on top with aluminum foil and baked for 1 hour plus. All baked from raw form. Juices mix perfect as it bakes. Easy and delicious…
And our pumpkin pie/cake is done…
We ate and ate and ate…

Beware of the psychopaths.
While in Congress, it was not unusual for me to meet government personnel who showed signs of psychopathology.
In a system of government that irrationally clings to pure democracy (i.e., the majority, urged on by the elite) the elite can very easily victimize the majority.
The process is accomplished by false, and very grand, promises that the majority readily accept.
Such a system is not uncommon throughout history. It has always led to moral and financial bankruptcy; along with a steady increase in violence.
Liberty, sound money, and non-intervention in the affairs of foreign nations offer the solution.
In other words, the policies of our nation’s founding.

BEIJING, November 25. /TASS/. The total value of Russia’s natural resources exceeds $100 trillion, which is nearly twice that of the United States, Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin said at the Russia-China Energy Business Forum.
“Russia, with its unique resource base, can guarantee the energy security of all Eurasia. The total value of our country’s natural wealth amounts to nearly $100 trillion, which is almost twice the comparable figure for the United States,” he said.
Sechin noted that Russia is a key player in the global energy market, accounting for approximately 15% of global hydrocarbon exports.
People are interesting when it comes to resources, supply chains, processing and planning…
This is the where Russia and China exhaust the last of USA resources…

Yes, of course. WW3 has begun and will inevitably go nuclear. And from the ashes will emerge a new world order. That’s been the plan of the global elites since well, you know, forever…
Stock up on the 3 B’s – bullets, beans, and bandaids…
The elites think they will retreat to their bunkers while we all burn and starve to death. Except Russia has a Bunker (Oreshnik) Hazelnut Buster that exceeds anything the West ever imagined…
The West started this mess, hopefully Russia and it’s allies come out on top and finish this mess…
