Mrs. White was 38,000 rubles and Mr. Black cost me myself to put together 40,000 plus rubles in parts. So the same in the end…
Why?
Biggest issue is RAM. DDR3 is dirt cheap (700 rubles a 16GB stick)and DDR4 (was 17,000 for 2 sticks of 16GB) 34,000 rubles just for RAM on Mr. Black. CPU, Motherboard and cooling systems are virtually the same and cost literally nothing. Under 10,000 rubles for MB, video card, WiFi dongle, etc etc…
and an other high expense is… SSD’s are screaming in price. A 256GB decent speed SSD is 15,000 rubles. Mrs. White has a 25,000 ruble very very decent speed SSD in her. Color me Surprised!
Mrs. White is a damn good deal and the X79 board is high quality. Bottle necks? None…
Mr. Black is a low level X99 board and it is a board that I had to do work on to get up and running. I actually had to solder on this board. But it has inherited bottle necks in the X99 chip set and runs only a bit better than the X79 board. Maybe some my fault? I resurrected this board. CPU is where the two devices part ways…
