Finally Someone Who Gets Its… (Video)

Hari Sreenivasan interviews Stephen Cohen, professor of Russian Studies at New York University and of politics at Princeton University for his analysis… (Read More about Stephen Cohen)

This professor gets it and understands the situation. I was actually amazed and I was even more amazed that he was allowed to express himself on world news…

Why he even gets it even to the fact that America was backing the Georgian war in 2008 and caused that to happen. Now once again we have another situation being backed by America and he tells it like it is…

America has no options at this point except to continue the path and go to war with Russia! Now he says that will not happen…

China Will Require USA Debt Paid in Gold Only?

glitter goldI found this interesting: As you should know and you may not know, because:
1. You hide from truth and/or
2. The western media is total crap!

Госдеп намекнул русским на заморозку активов, но пыл американцев быстро охладили в КНР, заявив, что могут потребовать выплаты долгов золотом.

The USA State Department hinted at freezing Russian assets, but the desires of the Americans are stifled by China, saying that they may require the payment of debts in gold. (If this attack continues!)

China once again acted as a formidable ally Russia and openly sided with Vladimir Putin’s Ukrainian decisions. As it was stated by China, Chinese authorities are ready to use the right of “veto” against any decision of the UN Security Council directed against Russia. Moreover, China masterfully chilled “geopolitical ambitions” of the U.S. by a requirement to repay their debt obligations in gold. The threat is effective enough, given the fact that the gold reserves of Americans do not cover debt obligations.

Wow seriously, “Do we (U.S.) have any gold at all?”

We are not able to get the gold back to Germany and it has been how long?

I thought I would add another tidbit of information for those not awake to what is happening in the world:

We Warn Russia!

imagesLet me get this straight, I am a little confused; The US has over the last 25 + years has invaded, destroyed and occupied foreign sovereign countries (Iraq early 90s and 2003, Serbia, Afghanistan, Libya, countries in Latin America and Africa etc, etc, and continues to destabilize other countries for regime changes etc, e.g. Syria, through support and arming murdering cannibalistic terror groups) for its own political and military agendas and in the process, killing millions of people and causing untold misery and suffering wherever the go, and all actions are illegal and against international laws and the famous Geneva convention, seemingly free to do what ever they like around the world and no one says anything about it because its, “OK” because its, “America!”

And now the USA has the audacity and total arrogance to attack, criticize, threaten and condemn Russia for protecting its borders, its citizens and security of their country from their enemies. This is coming from the totally corrupt US political bureaucrats, who do not know the difference between their backside from their mouths and who oppress, abuse, brutalize and murder their own people who they swear to serve and who elected them in office, and spit on their founding Constitution from the founding fathers of the once glorious land of promise; while they themselves are exempt from laws they pass and live in a different world to the citizens they are supposed to be serving, HA! Are you for real!

Besides everyone acts like they are OK with this? Just like we ignore that fact that the USA has paid snipers on the rooftops in Kiev and pulled them through the border from Poland…

Stop the intergalactic space cruiser! I am on the wrong planet! What planet are you on? Quick get off! These madman are going to blow it up; Oh wait a minute, do they know they are on the same planet?

Maybe not, here is the red pill enjoy the ride…

I also could care less for the American media’s and for that matter, the American government’s psycho narrative on world affairs. We are promoting values that will isolate the U.S. from much of the world and those values are simply unacceptable to them. I don’t like living with psycho values and won’t miss them when they fail. We are on an unsustainable path and the world knows it…

It is time we go sit in the corner with our dunce hat on…

Box of Rocks!

usebrainThe mentally challenged “Box of Rocks” called American people, have no idea what the hell is happening in the world. I see everyone except for a small fraction of the US populace, thinks Russia has invaded Ukraine and World War Three should commence immediately…

It looks like from the local peasants to the halls of the US congress, senate and our president, that very few rocks in the populace even realize that the Russians have a military base in the Crimea and that in the Crimea, Russia has the right for troops and to wander anywhere within the Crimea…

It is amazing that I watch a “Box or Rocks” decide to go to war financially, morally and physically over what the media is saying and lying about the situation in Ukraine…

petrockI never realized that when we sold “Pet Rocks!” many years ago that these were the future of our American people. These pet rocks have grown up and become humans…

Maybe someone could convince me that Americans are smarter than a “Box of Rocks!”

But somehow I doubt that you will succeed, because all I have to do is watch how we act at the playground…

Like a bunch of Rocks…

Sochi 2014 Paralympics: March 7th to 16th, 2014…

2014_Sochi_ParalympicsThere are two Olympics that I care about and it is not the Summer Olympics nor the Winter Olympics. I have very little desire to watch the regular Olympics and that is how I have been for my whole life. Now in the same mode of mind, but in a different way of my thinking, I am a avid supporter of the Paralympics and the Special Olympics!

I believe that the true spirit of the Olympics can be found in the Special and Paralympics. I watched the money being lavished upon the elite over regular Olympics and realized that it was all just a political merry-go-round…

I use to have many certificates of appreciation from the Special and Paralympic committees in the past, because I went out of my way to offer, give and supply as many services as I could afford and asked nothing in return. I did my best to stay out of the limelight and keep a low profile, as that is just the way I am. They the committees made sure that I was embarrassed with presentations and such, but a jealous ex-wife burned all my appreciation certificates and destroyed two actually gold medals associated with the Special Olympics… (No they were real facsimile medals, but not what the athletes would get!)

I remember the look on peoples faces as I would deliver free basic meals, as in “meals on wheels” to the Special Olympics and I sat down and had very good insightful conversations with Paralympics athletes. I also got to experience the unique abilities of the mentally handicap and learned that I myself had the messed up thinking’s, not them. I guess there was some perks about being the boss and spending my money the way I decided. I do know that funding for the lessor of the Olympics is pathetic at best, I knew this and I helped with what I could do. I was in foodservice and hence I could effect the bellies of the athletes…

I am talking about this right now, because the Paralympics are now getting ready to start in Russia. Now while my favorite are the Intellectually Challenged Special Olympics, but I will take the Paralympics as a backup any day…

I guess I should have said what Olympics many years ago, that Sveta and I would go to. Sveta agrees and we will go to the Paralympics this year. It is starting at the end of this week and will last one week exactly. We have tickets to see several events and we are excited to see the facilities and changes that happened to Sochi. Though knowing me, I will be a little upset as I loved Sochi the way it was and from what I am seeing, there have been big changes…

Tickets for events in the Sochi Paralympics are few and basically sold out across the board, right now. I suspect that some tickets will pop up right before the events, but as it is looking, hotels are sold out and tickets are sold out. That makes me smile…

So while we enjoyed the Sochi Olympics on the computer screen, we will enjoy one of the best Olympics, in person…

Now that is just how I feel and I was amazed that my little sweetie Sveta, feels the same way… 🙂

Ukraine Shows Russia On Washington’s ‘To Do’ List For Regime Change: by Finian Cunningham…

Days before Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych was ousted from office he was told it was «game over» by America’s Vice President Joe Biden. According to the British Guardian newspaper, quoting anonymous US officials, Biden admonished the Ukrainian leader in an hour-long phone call that his efforts for finding a negotiated solution to the country’s political crisis was «a day late and a dollar short». That’s hardly the friendly advice of a neutral bystander.

Since last weekend, Yanukovych has scrambled into hiding, believed to be located somewhere in Ukraine’s southeast Crimean Peninsula. A former Chief of Staff, Andriy Kluyev, was reportedly wounded in a gun attack by anti-government protesters. Other members of Yanukovych’s Regions Party have also fled their parliamentary seats fearing similar acts of retribution, and leaving the legislative chamber dominated by a rump of opponents. The illegitimate parliament has duly called for prosecution against the former president and senior officials allegedly for causing dozens of deaths during three months of protests and riots.

The climate of lawlessness and mob rule that has now taken over Kiev has spread to other parts of the country, with pro-Russian communities in particular fearing an all-out civil war in the former Soviet Republic. This climate of fear is a reflection of the coup d’état precipitated against an elected president and government. The prompt arrival this week of US deputy secretary of state Williams Burns in the Ukrainian capital «to discuss with political and business figures» the future direction of the country is further evidence that this coup d’état was a Washington-sponsored event… Why else has US Vice President Joe Biden taken such an inordinate interest in the domestic affairs of the Ukraine, having made several personal phone calls from the White House to the hapless Yanukovych over recent weeks?

This not-so-covert criminal interference by the US in a sovereign state should be of no surprise.

Listening to US secretary of state John Kerry and other Western leaders talking about Ukraine not being a «battle between East and West» is simply risible nonsense, which is dutifully churned out by Western so-called news media for public consumption. The Ukraine has been on Washington’s «to do» list since the early 1990s when it was targeted by Zbigniew Brzezinski and other US imperial planners as a soft underbelly for destabilizing Russia. The Western-sponsored Orange Revolution of the mid-2000s, which led to the country’s creeping ensnarement by Western capital, can now be seen as a dress rehearsal for the present regime-change operation.

Indeed, Ukraine may be added to the notorious inventory of American regime-change targets disclosed in 2007 by Wesley Clark. Nearly seven years ago, US Four-Star General Wesley Clark went public and told how Washington had a rolling plan dating back to at least late 2001, when it had just launched a war on Afghanistan, in which it also had ambitions for similar regime change in seven other countries – Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Iran. All of those countries have to varying degrees undergone Washington-led covert military aggression, the most intense currently being in Syria, where the US and its allies are funding and arming an infiltrated foreign insurgency.

In addition to the notorious eight targets (including Afghanistan), recent orchestrated events in Ukraine and evidence of flagrant Western interference also make this country a member of Washington’s «to do» list. Furthermore, it is increasingly apparent that it is not only Ukraine that comes under this criminal remit. Ongoing violent street demonstrations in Venezuela destabilizing the government of socialist President Victor Maduro are unequivocally the machinations of Washington’s interference in that country as well. This subversion in Venezuela harks back to the US-backed attempted coup against the former president Hugo Chavez in 2002.

Washington has also in recent years presided over regime change or attempted regime change in Honduras and Uruguay, and it has colluded with illicit French military intervention across Africa, including in the Cote d’Ivoire, Mali and currently in the Central African Republic.

Regime change is thus the standard operating procedure for Washington and its proxies. It is not some irrational aberration. It is structural. In the longer historical perspective going back to the rise of the US as an imperial power in the mid to late 1800s, Washington has probably been involved in more coups, counter coups, wars of subterfuge and aggression across the globe than any other state.

Despite naïve-sounding Western protestations of «non-interference» in Ukraine, the only way to understand the turmoil in that country is in the context of Washington’s imperialist ambitions on behalf of Western capitalism. This agenda is unfortunately slavishly subscribed to by successive European governments, which have demonstrated their political priorities by enforcing the diktat of US-led capitalism for economic austerity against their own masses, as well as giving Washington a free hand to violate international law at will.

The systematic fact is that capitalism cannot be sustained without imperialist conquest. This is especially true in times of capitalist crisis, and the current juncture is probably posing the greatest historical crisis to the viability of US-led capitalism. Imperialism, with its proclivity for foreign interference, subversion and warmongering, is therefore currently at its highest point of need and manifestation for relieving the US-led stagnant economic order. That is what makes the present global situation disturbingly dangerous.

This structural connection between capitalism and imperialism was made cogently over a century ago by the Russian Bolshevik leader Vladimir Lenin in his study Imperialism: the Highest Stage of Capitalism. Lenin’s insights into the systematic economic and political causes of the First World War have stood the test of time, albeit censored from mainstream Western consciousness. Those insights on how capitalist crisis furnishes imperialist predation can be applied with equal cogency in explaining the origins of the Second World War and many other subsequent international conflicts, including the current rash of US-backed regime-change operations on different continents.

Lenin’s analysis accounts for why Washington has stepped up its addiction for regime change around the globe over the past decade since when the US-led capitalist order has become locked into a seemingly inextricable depression. As in previous times, war and imperialism are the only way for the system to alleviate its own destructive tendency for impasse. Little wonder, ironically, that one of the first acts of the Western-sponsored protesters in Kiev at the end of last year was to smash up statues commemorating VI Lenin.

What is taking place in Ukraine is consonant with the bigger historic dynamic that the US and its Western proxies have stepped up their drive for imperialism – everywhere.

Ultimately, the targets for Western capitalist designs are the two major perceived geopolitical rivals of Russia and China. Both these countries represent a block on unfettered Western expansionism in Eurasia and the Pacific.

In that regard, ominously, Ukraine may be seen as merely a beachhead for Western regime-change plans in Russia itself. With the rise of Russian President Vladimir Putin as a global leader standing in the way of all-out Western naked aggression that «obstruction» has elevated Russia as a priority objective for Washington. This is fully consistent with renewed threats of militarism from the US towards Russia (and China) in the form of ballistic missile deployments along borders, nuclear weapons expansion (euphemistically called «upgrade») and the veiled doctrine of «first strike» capability.

Ukraine illustrates a chilling denouement of a political tendency that has been evolving in American imperialism over the past decade. To Wesley Clark’s infamous list of covert American regime change operations, the unspoken ultimate prize is becoming increasingly evident – Moscow.

In truth, however, it is not simply a case of the post-1945 American Cold War against Russia being resumed. The US-led global capitalist war on Russia goes back to the October Revolution of 1917. The onslaught on Soviet Russia by Nazi Germany was a Western covert plan to subjugate a vast territory that had become out of Western capitalism’s control. (The subject of a subsequent column.)

The neo-Nazi paramilitaries unleashed by the West to destabilize the Ukraine, and Russia, presently, resonate with an old, systematic agenda of Western imperialist regime change towards the East and elsewhere. There is nothing anomalous about the historical association of the Western capitalist ruling class and present-day fascist thuggery.

Interesting…

Starting to look like the Ukraine military is going to switch to Russia. Seems the Crimean military has already done so…

Lets watch and see!

1. Rear admiral Denis Berezovsky, appointed as head of Ukraine’s Navy forces just two days ago, has sworn allegiance to the people of Crimea. Taking his oath, regional Prime Minister Sergey Aksyonov announced creating Crimea’s Navy…

2. The head of the Security Service of Crimea Petyor Zima, Chief of Department of Internal Affairs in the Crimea Sergey Abisov, the head of Service for Emergency Situations Sergei Shakhov and acting Chief of the Border Guards of Crimea Victor Melnichenko all took an oath of allegiance to the people of Crimea.

3. Ukraine’s autonomous region of Crimea confirmed Sunday that the majority of Ukrainian military units stationed on the Crimean peninsula have expressed their support of legitimately elected Pro-Russian authorities…

Prelude to World War: We Are Hungry in Three Languages: by John Stanton…

indexOn 24 February 2014 US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel held a press conference to announce some of the details of Pentagon’s 2015 budget. Beyond the news of cuts in warfighting machinery and personnel–and the pox of “irresponsible” sequestration on the federal government–Hagel made a point of indicating that the world is becoming an increasingly volatile place. He also seemed to express a bit of disgust for nation building of the type attempted by the USA in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Those sentiments are directly at odds with the core element of US national and global security strategy in operation since the late 19th Century. Those strategies employ the USA’s considerable instruments of national power to: 1) actively destabilize “elected” governments (Ukraine, Venezuela) through the use of NGO’s, intelligence agencies and proxy groups; 2) prop up brutal regimes (Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt) through a US congressionally approved program, executed by the US military, called Foreign Internal Defense; 3) information operations conducted via the printed press, social media, radio, television and film that seek to shape the cognitive local to global environment in favor of US national interests.; and 4) existentially destroy foreign governments through direct military action in conjunction with the weaponry of finance capitalism to create new markets.

All of this is codified in one form or another in US political and military doctrine. Every American president from George Washington to Barack Obama has trumpeted in some fashion what President Obama and President Bush George W, Bush both proclaimed. The former indicated that the US will pursue its own interests no matter what any other nation on the planet thinks, even invoking God’s plan to put the care of the global environment in America’s hands. The latter put it more simply, “You are either with us or against us.” The heads of foreign governments—and their opponents– are well aware of US strategy, tactics and operations.

What Civilian Leadership?

In the middle of this sits the US Department of Defense and the military branches of the US government. While they certainly advocate for their budgetary interests, have their share of drunks, overstep the civil-military divide, and engage is occasional battlefield atrocities, the fact is that they take their guidance and instructions from American civilians who are elected and appointed to provide the guiding strategy—and funding–to which the military designs its own strategy, tactics and operations.

So as Chief Executive Officer of the DOD Chuck Hagel was announcing austerity measures for the DOD corporate dominion with the closure of unneeded facilities (think factories), personnel (think workers) and benefits (think pensions and health benefits cut for all but generals, admirals and senior government executives), the thought arises that in a dozen countries large and small around the planet, American civilian leadership is either agitating directly or indirectly for the destabilization of those foreign internal governments, or supporting brutal regimes for strategic ends. If these largely economic-based rebellions begin to spill over into neighboring countries–or cause neighboring country leaders to mobilize or put military troops on alert; as in Russia (who can blame them?), then why is American civilian leadership forcing the US Navy, Marine Corps and Army to shrink in size and cut costs?

And with the much ballyhooed pivot to Asia, how much sense does it make cut back US ground forces in the face of a potential adversary (China) that can field at least 300 million soldiers and insurgents? Additionally, and most importantly, why is the US civilian leadership destabilizing its own country by rapaciously cutting an array of federal social programs (food assistance programs and health benefits for example) for its own people, just as corporations hoard cash, pay little taxes and reap increased dividend payments?

Demonstrations the world over are underway not for some nebulous concept of freedom and democracy but rather because mercenary privatization IMF style and messy capitalism are ripping asunder their target societies as prices for water, rent and food skyrocket with no reasonable safety nets established. And when the populace is life-insecure, the nation’s stability is threatened. If it is not the capitalists then it’s the dictators and their minions who seek to fill their bank accounts with cash for the day they are booted out of power. And yet free market and expeditionary economic cheerleaders are the first ones to turn to the State when profits sink which means no one wants to buy what they are selling. Then there is that pesky violent history from the mid-19th to the 20th Century. If the idea of war is to create a better, long lasting peace, as someone once said, are we setting up for a third world war, the trifecta that ends all wars?

Toxic Civilian Combination

The combination of financiers, investors, technocrats and politicians is toxic. They run the world with formulas and a market ideology that has long since past its prime. They simply write off as “bad debt” large swaths of world’s population—to include in the United States and European Union—as unemployable, uninsurable. Once they have jettisoned those millions from the official economic figures, the economy magically improves as investors get excited. They claim that taxes stifle corporate investment when, in fact, corporations pay very little taxes thanks to politicians. Incredulously, they seek a move to the free market in a time of growing poverty, inequality and unrest.

Ukraine, Thailand, Venezuela, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Libya, Mexico (?), Chile, Spain, Greece and Yemen are just a few of the countries with populations unhappy with economic conditions ranging from factory closings, low wages and high unemployment. A good lesson for Americans is the plight of one of their own, Detroit, Michigan.

As a placard in Bosnia Herzegovina put it, “I am hungry in three languages.” So when global rebellion comes in dozens of languages–based on the simple desire for the “right” to be secure in work, food, shelter and clothing–spills over to one country after another–to include the USA–the financiers, investors, technocrats and loathsome politicians will turn to the American national security apparatus to protect them, most likely by fighting in a foreign land already in the midst of a civil war or open rebellion. Hagel should say No.

It has too often been too easy for rulers and governments to incite man to war: Lester B. Pearson

coffee-tea-no-warThat is what I am thing about Ukraine, while I sip that cup of coffee…

We have just seen a dirt bag of an ex-prime minister let out of prison to install cronies in political places in Kiev. She also tells she will lead Ukraine to the EU and she will run for president of Ukraine…

We have a boxing champion, who now wants to run for president of Ukraine and he prefers Germany over Ukraine in the first place…

We have neo-Nazis in control of the western half of the country…

We have people being held at gun point and being forced to make videos and apologize and grovel…

We have an IV bag of money being funneled directly into the Nazi heart of Ukraine, through the US Embassy in Kiev and they are paying $200 a day per person to riot, plus an extra $500 dollars to any group of people over 10 in group to come and riot…

The EU now promises a blank check to buy Ukraine off with…

The president elect of Ukraine was paid to sit back and allow this to happen. I just have not figured out yet if the east or the west paid him to be a Gorbachev copy cat…

They are tearing down their own WW2 monuments, which should tell you that the ones involved are,

1. Psychos and

2. Not necessarily from Ukraine to begin with, or

3. Paid – bored – broke people that sit by the thousands everyday at the train station in Kiev, waiting for something exciting to happen and or someone needs workers and will hire them. As is what the US government did to riot…

So add a ton more stuff to what I just said and you have a country that is no longer the country that was a dream to travel in. It sure changes how I have been doing business in Ukraine. I truly am not sure that Americans are safe anymore traveling in Ukraine, after what we did…

Oh and to top it all off Russia is laughing her head off at the financially devastated West as they play the games of fools…

What we did was very bad and I hope that I live long enough to see the same be wrought upon the shores of the United States of America…

I really think it is time for a Ukrainian type revolution in America…

But, What did you just say?

“NO! Not America!”

You just said, “That does not sound like much fun and people die and buildings burn and money crashes and inflation rules and families fight and radicals take over and terrorists rule and anarchy reins and utilities fade and neighbors hate and we starve…”

America needs a “Color Revolution” – I suggest the color PINK!

Or maybe “YELLOW” for cowards…
