Weekly Trip to Big Village…

javaEvery week I make a half day trip to the Big Village (Сараях) and I try to make that one trip. I have a standing order for four cases of dog food for Boza at the local pet store, I go to Magnet grocery store for me, stop at the pie kiosk for goodies to eat and pick up anything else that I will need to work on the house during the week. This is all that is necessary for me to survive comfortably in the small village. Actually I am about ready to try to get everything consolidated and only go to the Big Village once every two weeks. Then work it down to once every month. That is the ultimate goal, to make one trip a month to get supplies…

I am not sure that I can get by on only once a month, but I simply dislike leaving the village home and would prefer never leaving, but Boza likes his dog food and I like my sasiskas as a treat. That desire for the best sasiskas (pig in the blanket) might drive me to travel to the Big Village twice a month…

The one thing that I am noticing is that prices are dropping, I mean dropping like a rock in water. Three weeks ago I bought two 5 liters of water at 49 rubles per bottle. Two weeks ago I bought two more same brand, same store, 39 rubles per bottle. Then today I bought two more, same conditions as previous and they now cost 25 rubles per bottle of five liters. I have switched to strictly black bread and buy nothing else  anymore, price has dropped drastically and today, I picked up two loaves of fresh black bread, still hot from the oven, for 5.9 rubles a loaf. That is 11 cents, American Dollars for a huge loaf of bread. Why; You can find 11 cents (6 rubles) laying in the gutter and eat really great bread here in Russia…

Bananas are 46 rubles a kilo, cabbage is 5 rubles a kilo, and I sneaked a Russian candy bar into my belly at 9.7 rubles a bar. It was made of sunflower seeds and a hard cracked sugar candy. Delicious and as big as a Snickers bar, that cost 48 rubles. That is the stuff I talk about and see…

The reason I am saying the above last few paragraphs is that I am confused about what I see about Russia in the Western Press. I see story after story of how Russia is dying, dead, evil, unable to care for her people, and everyone is eating there firstborn, second born, third born and newborns to stay alive. The situation is so bad according to the west, that Russians are going to rip Putin from the Kremlin and eat him, because they are starving, as he eats high on the hog every meal. The lies are pathetic, but I see real life and you can believe what you want, but the Russians have started manufacturing everything! They have restarted, reinvented, reopened, redesigned and put a flame under so many asses and got everything in gear, that from bottled water, candy bars, bug spray, to toilet paper. Russia makes it and has replaced everything with virtually no exceptions, the products that use to be imported into Russia from Europe…

I do not get it and I do not understand what the west is trying to accomplish?

Why live a life of lies? Are they proud to do so?

Windows to Russia…

PS: I am going to pick more strawberries and dry them for Sveta! That is what Boza and I are going to do. Have a nice day living in your lies…
