Sammy the 310221 Volga Gaz is back home with rebuilt engine…

The young man (Ivan) sent images as things progressed over the last two weeks. So, I am just going to upload and here they are below. Not the best, but “good enough for government work” as we say…

The engine a 406 model, was gone through completely. New pistons, new crank, new bearings, new rings, new oil pump, and Whatnots…

The only issue and Ivan will work on it, is starting. There is still something not just correct in that area. He will work on it in two weeks. At that time the engine oil for the break in period will be changed, with new filter and front end greased. Then he will look at the starting issue. Once started it is okay. I believe a sensor for cold starting is bad?

Today Sammy just got washed (and the mosquitoes and horseflies tried to use me as a buffet) and I will asses the body work spots and how I will fix them and touch up the paint?

Tomorrow I will go to the Big Village and get antifreeze to top the level up and oil and filter to do break in changing time…

Otherwise, it is nice having our girl Sammy back…

She is family!
