Lets Talk Gasoline (Benzine) Price in Turkey…

Sveta and I were just in Turkey. In Turkey Gasoline is sky high in price and I really think that if Russians and Americans had to pay these prices as in Turkey then people would really riot…

Turkey uses lira as money. Gasoline is priced in lira. Price per liter (not gallon) in Turkey runs approximately 4.5 lira per liter for the cheap stuff. 1 Turkish lira = 0.539403 U.S. dollars so that means as of right now a liter of gasoline cost about $2.43 per liter. There is 3.78541178 liters per US gallon. That means a gallon of gasoline in Turkey costs = $9.21 per US gallon…

Now I see a lot of $3.30 per US gallon in America when checking the gas price charts. This changes but it looks like a good place to start. In Russia I will figure what I saw as price when I rode the taxi home from the airport. That means the price is higher than when we travel because Moscow has a higher price for fuel. I saw 21 rubles per liter in Moscow as the cheapest price.(I also saw 36 rubles for super 98 plus but we will use the lowest grade that I see available within reason. That means about 90 octane!) 21 rubles equates to $2.57 a US gallon. That is using 31 rubles per dollar for your information…

Tidbit of information: BP (British Petroleum) is always the most expensive gasoline no matter where we go. I mean it is always the most expensive. So BP is not used in figuring any gas price because it is so elevated in price over everyone else… (Russia and Turkey specifically)

So we have Russia who complains all the time about high price fuel and America who says the country will collapse at any minute because of high price fuel at $2.57 and $3.30 per gallon respectively…

Okay go ahead and say I fudge the numbers. Even if I did and you want to add 20% you will not equate to anything near Turkey pricing. But the fact is that I did not and am using prices that I see in two countries personally and take from http://gasbuddy.com/ for America…

I realize that many parts of the world pay just as much as Turkey and maybe more. I know that in England gasoline is very high. I have seen it as high as $10.00 per gallon…

The one thing that I saw in Turkey was a whole bunch of cars are using propane. Propane is 2.25 lira per liter and even without figuring it you can see why when compared to 4.5 lira per liter that propane would be a viable choice. In fact because we run propane in Russia in our Volga wagon. I kept telling Sveta smell that? She would say, No! Then we would walk some more and I would say smell that? She would say, No! Then I would say that is right because they are all burning propane in their cars. Sveta would then smile as she was thinking of our Sammy the Volga just as I was at that moment…

I saw that in Turkey cars were not dual fuel but propane only. In fact where the gasoline fill normally is. Open the flap and you will find a propane fill valve. I also did not see any reason to say that high gasoline price is the death of an economy. Turkey has an active economy to say the least but in America the whole world falls apart with high fuel prices. Turkey has adapted: They walk more, they use mass transit, they use solar panels to heat water, they conserve, conserve and conserve some more. That word conserve is the big one… 🙂

Unbelievably Wonderful: Gaddafi E-mails to Windows to Russia…

Last night I received a slew of comments on the e-mail system. I expected to be slandered all over the place as I usually am. I had in mind just to delete them all and say Oops…

I was wrong and totally amazed at the compassion and sadness at the way Gaddafi was treated in his final minutes…

Many cried…

Many worried…

Many were angry along with that sadness…

Here is one I received:

Fairness, Justice and Freedom have become Dirty Words.

Every human being knows in their hearts and in their minds that something is terribly wrong in the world. You don’t even have the Freedom to Speak Out, or even Question what you see anymore.

Events have evolved outside the Control of the Individual, whom is now powerless to do anything but Watch.

So remember those Dirty Words.

The one thing that was common with them all was the fact that we (West) were suppose to be happy about this occasion and many seemed taken back by it all. It was if a realization slammed home to millions and millions of people all at the same time, Law and Order is gone from the world agenda. Democracy and the Rule of Law no longer go hand in hand…

Not a single derogatory comment was sent to me. Not a single, “I hate you or you should die.” comment was spat my way…

No one will ever contend that Gaddafi was a saint but when he was killed it was with a gasp from the people in the world. We have been told from day one that Gaddafi was to be held accounted for his crimes. We believed that and even though we all knew it would be his death. We all expected him to be brought to trial and then everything that Gaddafi had knowledge of would be put on the table. Good or bad for the Western world we did not care, We only knew that Gaddafi had information that can put light on much corruption in the world…

We wanted an ending to why the West stuck its nose into Libya. We want why months before all this started he was met with open arms and hugged by all of our great pathetic leaders. We wanted real answers and those answers would come by a court system that was prided on being the Rule of Law…

We were told that this was not about killing Gaddafi…

I have to put a statement by Lew Rockwell in at this time:

It wasn’t only Hillary, Obama, Bush, and the rest of the power elite that cheered the murder of Gaddafi today. CNN showed the tape of his being beaten bloody before he was shot in the head, again and again and again, for our delectation. It was a tribal killing, ordered by the US, and savored by the establishment as well as the perps. He was a dictator, but more so than Obama? More so than the fundamentalists the US has brought to power, so as to cause chaos? As in Iraq, ethnic and religious minorities may look back on the dictator’s rule as a golden age. As I have said before. The West has no respect for the rest of the world. Just look at Libya now. Look at what we considered a proper choice to run Libya. May God help us for stepping where we should never have gone…

I want to thank all for the e-mails I got. They were heart warming and gave me hope that people are really good inside after all. It looks like we have created another Martyr out of Gaddafi just like we did out of Ben laden. We truly are ignominious…

Sirte is devastated as much of Libya is destroyed…

Just look at the picture and tell me no civilians died in that city. Tell me please and really please come and say it to my face. I really want to see what a true sick idiot looks like. Look at the telephone polls along the streets. Looks at the buildings, that is what a tank does at point blank. That is what a Howitzer does to a building. That is what you do to a city when you only care about killing, anything and everything in that city…

That is some serious fire power and I see the mark of 30mm chain gun from helicopters all over the place. My God, we wanted him dead so bad that we tried to mow a whole city down to get him and did not care how many we killed…

I write this with tears in my eyes. I once walked down a street that looked like this. It was many many years ago, But that walk was before they picked up all the bodies as they have done here. That is how I know what kind of country America is and that is why I cry…

Do you realize how many people we killed, once again in the name of humanity and democracy?

God Bless the people of Libya and you can not say that they did not go out fighting. Just look at the picture that is a fight that included the inhabitants of that city fighting for their life against someone bigger and stronger. That was not a hired group of men who were hired to fight for Gaddafi, for no one fights that hard unless they believe in what they fight for.  The ghosts of thousands are in that picture and you should weep…

Gaddafi was a true hero. He fought to the end.  If he is dead (he may not be; NTC and the NATO media have so far told so many lies); if he is indeed dead, he will go down in the books of history and in all sane minds as a great man who fought a greater evil. Like a modern Spartacus he fought against the enslavement of human beings in Africa. God bless Africa and God bless the world. (Interesting thinking. Thank you for leaving me an e-mail! Kyle)

Reported By Russia: Colonel Gaddafi is Killed by a NATO Attack…

Senior NTC military official now claims Colonel Gaddafi died of wounds suffered in capture near Sirte. Earlier NTC said Gaddafi has been captured and wounded in both legs, quoting an NTC official.

The NTC says it will provide confirmation of Gaddafi’s capture within hours.

But according to Reuters, Gaddafi was wounded and captured near Sirte upon trying to flee in a convoy which was attacked by NATO. NATO official says the Alliance is  checking reports of Gadhafi’s capture.

So NATO/West parties tonight after they destroyed a country and finally got Gaddafi. But as I was told in the armed forces, “The end justifies the means!”

So dance West and dance some more! You have another trophy for your wall…

Two American Women Arrested over Nude Protest Attempt in Russia…

No the title is correct and just as stupid as it sounds. I then had to read as to why two American women would come all the way to Russia to do a nude protest? It seems that they are from PETA, or “People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals,” No surprise then for what they are trying to do…

I see fur coats everywhere in Russia. The Russian women and men love these fur coats. In fact one of the things that Turkey is famous for with Russians is cheap furs and leather goods. Turkey has fur and leather factories all over the place. Russians buy, buy, buy and buy some more in Turkey…

Several thoughts came to me, “If you don’t like what another country is doing? Then please stay home and be an idiot there (your home). Because we (expats) do not want you making people in other countries think we (Americans) are all really that shallow of individuals!” You must understand that real expats are not trying to change the country that they chose to live in. They love the country for what it is and how it is. That is why they are there. If they don’t like the country then they are free to leave at any time…

It is strange, I watched America get into a fever in the past over fur coats. Some like me have no problem remembering when Americans all had fur coats. I saw nothing wrong then with it and see nothing wrong now. Fur is warm and cozy. Fur saves lives in Russia where the temperature gets down to -30+ Celsius in the Winter for days at a time. I can attest to the fact that it is just plain cold and fur does the job efficiently…

Maybe those girls need to come to Moscow this Winter and do a nude protest! When it is so cold that your breath freezes as you exhale. I bet they do not strip their clothes off in that weather…

Time to go home girls…

WTO and just say NO…

WTO in the World...

One of the last vestiges of the reset that was instigated between Russia and the US has been pruned from the tree. The acquisition into the WTO by Russia has become a mute dangling carrot in front of Russia, now that Putin is starting to retake the helm of the ship again…

In case no one was listening. Several months ago Putin made it clear that WTO was not going to happen unless big concessions were made for the agricultural sector and car production sector. He also said that Russia will not follow WTO rules until WTO acceptance. Other words, Russia will not play the game until the rules are fair for both sides…

Yesterday the world finally realized what has been obvious for months. Medvedev made this statement:

“If we are told that we are not fit for it (WTO) for some reason, we can live without it. This is absolutely true and I am absolutely sincere,” Medvedev said.

“Everybody, and our partners in the WTO accession process should understand that our joining is not only in Russia’s interests. It is in the interests of various businesses, foreign businesses … for reasonable regulation of international trade flows. It is a two-way street,” Medvedev said.

Well thank you Medvedev! It is time that you got this destructive symbol of world stupidity out of your sights. The Western world has dangled that carrot in your eyes since you became president and used it to try to manipulate you ever since…

So now in Russia the Western wannabe’s and the so called Western experts have taken up spouting about how terrible it is that Russia has chosen to stand up and ignore the dangling carrot, instead of crawling like a child to get her treat…

All you have to do is look around you and see that Russia has shifted her gears and followed a different path. What with the strengthening of ties with Iran, North Korea, Vietnam and many others. It is clear that the Western escapades of destroying Libya and the Western continuation of lies on all subjects has really caused a turn around in the thinking’s of Russia and China…

I have people tell me that the Reset is alive and well. I have people tell me that Russia needs the West more than the West needs Russia…

I am here to tell you that the Reset died a long time ago and Russia might have backed herself into a corner in the past of needing the Western world, but Russia is working real hard to get out from under that tether of hell…

Russia can do just fine and will survive without the West and Putin knows this. That is why Putin has many many stipulations on the condition of entry into the WTO…

World As Boza See It!

Boza the Russian Dog…


Today I was walking the dog, his name is Boza! He is half German Shepard and half Wire Haired Terrier. He is less than half the size of a regular German Shepard!

Boza has a good outlook on life. His outlook is simple, Just have as much fun as you can everyday. He loves the Village trips, he loves my cooking, he loves to go for walks and he loves to just lay around and goof off. Most of all he loves the one person that I love more than anyone else, my Wife…

Now Boza is Russian, He understands many Russian words, (more than I do). He understands many English words (I know more English than he does). I think he is pretty smart. He is almost fluent in two languages. (I can not say the same)

I watch Boza, the world to him is full of wonderful things. He chases bugs. He chases birds. He wants to be friends with everyone, people dogs, cats, bugs, frogs, toads, and anything else that will be his friend. He does not have a mean bone in his body. The world is a play ground for Boza…

I wonder why we as humans have all but lost this zest for the World. I think that I could learn something from Boza, I need to stop and check out the beetle that is crawling in the grass. I might live longer!!!

I have a rough time in my life, I am a type A personality. (get it done and get it done now). I have had multiple heart attacks and multiple stents put in. I worked 365 days a year, at 16 to 20 hours a day, for many years. It almost killed me! I am slowing down on purpose and watching Boza! When he chases something in the grass, I chase it with him! 🙂

Maybe this Russian dog will teach me to live longer and have a fuller life.

Windows to Russia Update… (October 19th, 2011)

Looks like it is time to update on the happenings with Windows to Russia. Most happenings are behind the scene as the template has stayed stable for a long time now. The cosmetics of the template have changed slightly but the coding has stayed much the same for a awhile. It took a lot of learning by me to assemble a WordPress template from scratch and this is my final product. I call it Simplicity (based off the core of a template called manifest) and it is about as light of a template and still function properly with WordPress…

Ukraine still blocks the site and that seems to be permanent. Ukraine government just does not like Windows to Russia…

The Chinese are now officially number two on the countries that view Windows to Russia and I see that China could really take number one spot with in two months. The Chinese search engine Baidu has really increased Windows to Russia’s traffic…

I received two e-mails last night. (Actually received many more but these two I will talk about!) It is strange on how far apart in thinking that these e-mails were. The first one (as well as the second one) was in conjunction with my article: Preachers of Democracy Stutter in Russia Over American Repressions…

The first e-mail said basically you are correct and that they knew people leaving America because it was getting so bad. I myself know of people trying to do the same thing and have many friends struggling to survive now in America. I also know many that are doing great in America and have to say that it is not all bad. But it is far from good like it has been in the past…

The second e-mail was a rip roaring hum dingier! It told me about how worthless I am and that the world can just take the American middle finger up its ***! Normally at this time the delete button is activated and away go troubles down the drain… 🙂

But I saw a statement farther down in the letter. It said, “Democracy is Gods Politics! We are passing the word of God through Democracy! Those who oppose Democracy oppose Gods will! America is Gods country and we will rule the earth! We are the chosen ones and all others shall perish! We will succeed where other Empires have failed!” (Really kinda scary if you think about it.)

Hum… That really is a radical way to think. I see a lot of this type of responses all over the internet. There are so many comments on news sites and blogs all over the world that pass a similar message. But yet we only seem to worry about the radical Muslim message. Why is that? The letter I got and get all the time is from the USA and they are very brutal, radical, degrading and hateful…

Next in my thinking’s today is about comments. I think that the information above will explain good enough why comments are non existent on Windows to Russia. I have had a wonderful time writing again because I have stopped being terrorized by comments. I have something to say and it is your choice if you want to read it or not. This is not a social gathering and if you really need to contact me then try the e-mail in contact. But I have to warn you that I will decipher the e-mail and decided if it is real or not. Most do not make it past the spam filter in the first place. I do apologize to someone who really desires to comment but that is less than a half percent of a percent. The rest of the comments were simply a troll or spam to leave a link. That is what most bloggers are about. They comment to leave a link and they really do not have any desire to care about what you write. Readers who do not have websites to try to link too, come and read and leave as quietly as they came. I have thousands upon thousands of those readers a day. Mostly the presence of paid trolls governed comments and that just is not worth the trouble. Plus I had a huge degrading Washington DC group of trolls that made life interesting. I have sliced these scum off at the roots. There are more readers than ever from Washington DC now that I have have done that…

A last word on comments. There are sites that have many good comments and usually those sites are ones that help people to fix something or to learn something. But a site like Windows to Russia just instill a curious combination of hate and jackass. The blend of Evil Russia and someone who likes Russia like me and then to compare Russia to America at the root of things! Just causes people (Americans) to get their panties in a twist… 🙂

Next is Coffee and News domains of Windows to Russia. They have grown a tremendous amount and both being news based it has really pleased me at their growth. On some days they are able to rival Windows to Russia in page views. That is no small feat for those sites…

As I said while we were on vacation in Turkey that Windows to Russia has reached the 3000 article mark. I remember the first 100 articles and that seemed like a huge accomplishment and at the time it was. I was very new at this blogging thing and still wondering why I was doing it. Then I receive an e-mail and it says something as simple as:

“Joo got it”   (Mexican accent here).

Then I smile and think of how many times my workers in America down South said that. That is when I know why I write this blog…

Time to talk about Iran and that alledged Plot of Death…

If anything was to be considered phony then the alleged Iran plot to kill the Saudi ambassador to the US and blow up both the Saudi and Israeli embassies has to be the icing on phony mainstream media cake. But that does not stop the warmongers and drum beaters from using it, for all it is worth…

The only thing that I saw good out of this whole shenanigans was that the people did not believe the bull as much as in the past. Could it be that we are getting tired of lies? It seemed to me that it did not take long and the falsifications of the story by an Investigating Instigating FBI. Just had a ring of stupidity that even a three year old child would scowl at when you told him the story…

Then when I heard what Iran said, “The US had created the recent hype to overshadow the spread of the Occupy Wall Street protests in its cities!” I had to agree but will add that also the US is trying to test the waters and see if they can get away with attacking Iran…

What a world we live in! I thought back to all my history that I have read about and experienced. I realized that nothing has changed under the sun. We have been killing each other for centuries. We have been enslaving each other for all known time. We have lied, cheated, deceived and controlled as long as man has records. We are always in an endless loop and all that changes is the toys we have to kill and amuse ourselves with…

So one day those war drums will beat even stronger over Iran. For we all truly believe that Iran is evil. Just like we see Russia, Venezuela, North Korea, Libya and so so so so many more. Why do we see them as evil? Is it because all of us have been to these countries and seen first hand how terrible and evil they are. Or is it because we are told everyday of our lives that they are evil and should be eradicated or saved?

I for one am glad, that I moved to this evil country called Russia… 🙂
