I woke at 2:30 a.m.
I sat up on the edge of the bed and said to myself, “It is clear and crisp out and God is smiling today!”
Outside the sky was crystal clear and no lights intruding upon the view of the heavens above. The Milky Way was in full blooming glory and I stood in amazement as dozens upon dozens of falling stars (meteoroids) burned up in the atmosphere time and time again. A light show that has no equal upon the earth. Streaks of burning angel tears as I look at them…
Hundreds and hundreds of billions of stars, so many that the sky was lit by star light and thus that milky look. No moon, just darkness, satellites crossing the sky, stars, planets and streaks of delight as they burned their way across my vision and turned to vapor to drift upon the currents of our planets atmosphere…
So this morning here in Russia, that perfect sky to realize how humble and lucky we are to live in such a vast and amazing solar system. Yet, then the realization that our Galaxy is nothing but a speck of dust in the scheme of things…
+2 degrees as I walked around a bit. Then I found the perfect spot and stood and watched. Dots of light moved, I found Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and realized how red Mars is (Mercury is too fleet of foot to find), shooting stars endless this morning and a tiny faint dot moving ever so slow across the sky….Was that the space station?….How we as humans do not believe in anything but our own personal satisfaction is beyond me….the evidence of our microscopical existence in this universe is on full display. I guess that is scary to many upon our planet. I look at it all as we have so many and so much more coming in our tests of a life as we struggle upon this jewel of a perfect planet. To believe that we are just an accident and nothing else is anywhere in the Universe is simpleton at is baseness…
We are but a microscopic speck of dust. Use this video above to knock you back to reality whenever you feel too godlike and all that as we live in a very large swirling mass of eternity….and use this video to gather the reality when you think you are all that!

The provision was also included in the Senate Armed Services Committee’s markup of the NDAA. After years of debate over all women ages 18 to 25 registering, the requirement is now closer than ever to becoming law, representing a major overhaul of the Selective Service System.
There has not been a military draft in the U.S. since 1975, but should a draft become necessary, “we need man, woman, gay, straight, any religion, Black, white, brown. We need everybody, all hands on deck,” Waltz said before voting for the amendment.

Corn syrup is one culprit so miss used in the world, because sugar is sanctioned so many places, so corn syrup is cheaper. Corn syrup has been used as pancake syrup for decades by us in the USA. That said there is no place in a free society for Mandates for Anything. You want to eat garbage, be couch potatoes, fine, but “you” should pay your own way and your own health costs. No burden upon society. You eat until you are 200 – 300 + kilos? You foot the bill not everyone else. Again that said, why do we feed people stuck in bed because they weigh a ton? And if your health fails? You either foot the bill and or die because of your stupidity…
We chose to eat real Maple Syrup and real Butter, not the cheap alternatives that eat you from the inside out…
Alcohol is poison, cigarettes kill, yet you are free to chose. No one should tell you other than the fact that they truly are poor choices, that you put into your body. It is not the choice of governments and special groups to tell us different…

Prohibitions have always failed in there implementations, yet they succeed in that they create huge black markets for the goods or services (even governments run black markets to garner the money from their own sanctions items). After all no one can and or cares to even stop the drug trade in all the prisons. But the constant advertising on media should be curtailed as it was for cigarettes, and probably should be for alcohol, which by the way was illegal by a constitutional amendment and later overturned…
I lived in a dry county for years. Dry means no alcohol and thus everyone and I mean everyone literally, including any politician and members of the anti-alcohol Baptist University….could be found even at lunch time across the border of the county (in a county that it was okay to drink alcohol) sipping a cold beer and eating ribs and burgers. Then back to work after sipping cider. Talk about a busy food/bar joint….not to mention that moonshine was huge business all over the county…

Probably one of the most interesting birds I have had the pleasure to put up with….or she puts up with me? Or whatever…
I believe it is a female and yes I call her, “What You Doing” and she is interesting to say the least…
1. 90% of her time is running around on the ground.
2. She lives under the house.
3. She has somehow met and won against “Fatcat” and “Badcat”, who until “What You Doing” came along lived under the house also!
4. She can fly and fly just fine….she just does not want to 90% of the time.
5. This bird has been doing this for a month now.
I sit on my bench at around 4 a.m. and will hear the Thrush waking up. It comes out before sunrise, but I have seen it scoot out a dozen times from under the house at the back porch. It starts its routine of circling the yard constantly, in search of that never ending need to eat bugs bugs bugs…
My initial fears of her being killed by cats, was unfounded and now the yard has no cats anymore! (??)
During an average day….I meet the little pain in the butt a dozen times. I have to watch and listen carefully or I could cause an issue as I did one time and it took a few days to regain her trust. I tossed an empty water bottle at a pile of wood and guess who was behind that pile….yup, and she did not forgive me for a few days. Now she has decided that I do not want to kill or eat her…
At least she has learned to watch out for me also…
Yet still, I am working away and as I am concentrating on something, I hear that faint scratch scratch of leaves being moved and look around and there is my Thrush (What You Doing) with a big worm in its mouth. Then in one blink of an eye….the worm disappears down the hatch…
At my last trip to the bench and rest a moment after a long day. What you doing comes around and stares at me. Sometimes for minutes and those beady black eyes just bore through me. I stare back and always lose the contest. I have to blink first… 🙂

According to the TV channel, two vehicles were destroyed and a residential building was partially demolished as a result of the US drone strike. Earlier, the Afghanistan Times newspaper reported seven casualties.
