Happiness comes in such little moments at times…

The Tiny Russian Villages all around the Ryazan Oblast are facing fines and issues, brought on by an age old issue and new rules to correct these issues. They are installing trash dumpsters (mind you slowly, but surely) at all villages. Also this has never been done before and local villagers are kinda pissed off….threats of fines and responsibilities for dealing with old dump areas and flying accusations of who is at fault and responsible are dragging the idiots out of the wood work…

One such area for dumping over many years is right behind our home. A ditch from erosion and three meters deep plus of trash.I use it also and as so many others in the past. But it is gone now and woe and behold anyone who tries to continue the practice of messing things up again after I get it fully done. Knuckle sandwiches for all… 🙂

I had gone for a walk around the village. I found Father Pavel of the monastery and sat down in the shade to have tea with him and communicate about the finer things in life. Father Pavel is a good man and has a good heart. He is trying to rebuild the ancient monastery, yet without money….kinda hard to do…

We watched the backhoe doing its thing and filling up the dump truck with junk from the new property that the monastery acquired…

Meet “I wanna know what you are doing” birdbrain

Then a light bulb went off over my head and an issue that has been eating at me and how to solve it came up. We in the Tiny Russian Village are so far out from civilization, that getting workers with heavy equipment to come out is hard. But here we had for the day a backhoe and dump truck already in the village…

I wish I could say that all ten dump areas are now taken care of, but alas, I feel blessed to get the one near our home that would have the blame pinned on us. Father Pavel liked the idea and at around 5 p.m. yesterday, here comes everyone all excited to have exciting stuff to watch…

I was prepared to pay and needed to have this done. Yet Father Pavel said that the monastery has done this for us and no charge!

Sveta and I say, “Thank you Nikolai Monastery and thank you Father Pavel.”

Now if we can get the dumpsters that the local government keep saying we have to have and pay for installed?

That is another issue and out of my hands completely. But our dump spot is history and when I am done moving dirt and sowing grass seed, it will be just a footnote in history…

Now who to blame?

Maybe better to say, “We (USA & NATO) should never have ever have been and I mean ever been in Afghanistan in the first place and to have done so over blatant lies makes it even worse!”

Some are having to now bargain with the Taliban to get the their Nationals and their families out…

PS: So is Afghanistan the Graveyard of Empires?

One of my favorite dishes. Well until the last few years when my insides decided to change how I eat. But that is personal and has nothing to do with how wonderful Morkovcha (Korean Carrots) are to eat…

Ingredients:

1kg carrots shredded
½ tsp of onion powder
½ tsp of garlic powder
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
½ tsp white pepper
½ tsp of powdered paprika
1 tsp powdered coriander seeds and or whole/cracked if you like
Pinch or two of cayenne pepper or more for hotties. (I use less than called for, add what makes you happy.)
3 tbsp apple vinegar
5 tbsp of salad oil

Instructions:

Peel the carrots, and shred them long thin pieces…

Put carrots in a mixing bowl…

Add the oil, vinegar, salt, sugar, paprika, white pepper, coriander, cayenne, garlic and onion to the carrots…

Mix very well, but gently until thoroughly combined and cover, then refrigerate until cold and let sit and marinate 24 hours. I feel you should stir them in the bowl several times to mix better as they marinate…

Serve drain and as a side dish or as I do, just eat them as a meal!

Koryo-saram (ethnic Koreans located in post-Soviet countries) created the dish as they did not have supplies of Baechu cabbage, the main ingredient in traditional kimchi. In Central Asia, where many Koryo-saram have lived since the deportation of 1937, the salad is also named morkovcha, which is a combination of Russian morkov (“carrot”) and Koryo-mar cha, derived from Korean chae (채) meaning salad-type banchan. The salad was unknown in South Korea until recently, when Russo-Koreans’ return migration as well as Russian- and Central-Asian immigration became common. However, it has gained an international following, being served in most cafeterias throughout post-Soviet countries, sold in many supermarkets, and featured regularly as an appetizer (zakuska) and a side dish on dinner tables and in holiday feasts set by all ethnicities of the former Soviet Union.

To take a moment in life to listen to it wake up is probably one of the most important points in the day….God has blessed us with a very beautiful planet. I just wish that we all thought the same way about our planet!

I call sparrows “Monkey Birds” and I sat quietly and listened just as the light started to stretch its glow and make things visible to the eye. but it is not what you can see, but what you can hear…

My monkey bird that lives in the lilacs started to stir. He poked his head out and looked at me and for a sparrow, he made such nice little peep noises. I said, “Good morning little monkey!”

He peeped at me and came down to take a bath in the water bowl I have for whom ever desires to bath in. After peeping sweetly and bathing? That ended the sweetness and then he started to do his normal sparrow squawking. A chickadee told him to shut up and the thrush (named, What you doing?) hopped over and stared up into the lilacs, looking for that terrible noise and…

Just like that, they teleported into existence, a dozen monkey birds appeared at the top of the lilac trees and hence forth commenced a meeting about world politics and how they would solve all issues…

Like any good meeting of such momentously important minds and abilities, it broke down quickly into a three ring circus and or like a bunch of monkey’s in a barrel…

Therefore, while the monkey’s discussed world politics and I am sure I heard so squawks about Afghanistan, the chickadees woke up and went to business eating bugs and such and What you doing? came over to me and asked, “What you doing?” I just looked at him and didn’t respond and he decided to chase a moth that had flown within excitement range of his abilities. The moth did not get far at that point…

I realized that I was watching the world wake up and fog rolled in from the lake and the sounds of life became noisier and noisier. Especially as the monkey birds got onto a subject of, “How many monkey’s fit into a bowl of water?”

By my estimation this morning?

I started dehydrating plums this morning. Gonna make prunes and have yellow sweet plums for this winter. The fancy purple plum tree is not ready yet and soon they will be dried also. Don’t want to waste such wonderful fruit…

Not an apple anywhere this year…

Cherries non existent this year…

Frost really did a number in the spring time…

Sveta has a friend who has gotten King Corona to visit. Not a good friend to have visit….two sisters and their mother all live together. Dad? Maybe dead? They went to the same function and all got Corona-19. No masks and no worry that King Corona-19 is watching and waiting for such moments of ignorance. Only Svetochka’s friend got vaccinated and she had just a low fever, no taste and no smell and feels okay otherwise. The sister and mother have been hit hard and have high fevers and are suffering big time and no they do not feel good at all. The sister and mother said no way to vaccine and refused it with no thought as to repercussions. They believed that it was all a lie…

Now they believe:

The friend got vaccinated because Sveta spent lots of time explaining why you should and she is very thankful right now, yet as always, the sad thing is that the rest of the family is paying for ignorance of the facts…

I wish them well and the elderly mother is the one that looks to be a victim of being visited by King Corona-19. Very sad and I will pray for them…

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with people?

I despise all the terrible propaganda being spread to scare people. Just get your vaccine and get on with life…

Sveta has been so embroiled with the situation and her uncle on his deathbed. She has finally gotten help in the form of state services in Russia and a psychiatrist has hospitalized the uncle. Suicidal is the diagnosis, he does not have dementia and intentionally has tried to kill himself…

I feel sorry for Sveta, she has carried him on her shoulders for months now. Living with him full time and keeping him alive. His daughter has finally woke up to the facts and has finally started to help. People are strange…

I am proud of my girl, she got him help finally and now it is in the hands of professionals…

Meet “I wanna know what you are doing” birdbrain

I feel terrible, bad night, weather changing again and again….yet when this little bird, in the dark scrounging through the fallen leaves and making me wonder, what giant animal is making all that noise? Came up to me as I sat on my bench in the back yard. I needed a friend to make me laugh at 3 a.m. and “What you doing?” did just that…

He must of have thought I had gone nuts?

I started to laugh and he stood there in the very very beginning of dawns light and stared at me. About a meter away from me and I just laughed. For you see, he wanted to know, “What you doing?”

I do not know where he sleeps? But I know that he is up late at night and up very early….I heard a noise by (above) my bedroom window as I got up in the early dark hours and now I realize that maybe that was him getting up also, because I got up…

Interesting to say the least…

This morning I checked on the pears and that is what I do every morning. Well….this morning I came upon a Eurasian Jay bird party and they were eating our pears…

Of course they denied that they ate them and flew away like they did nothing. They saw nothing, heard nothing and are innocent. Yet, I caught them red handed…

So I grabbed the last pear and am trying to decide if broiled “Eurasian Jay” bird is a good substitute for yummy pears?

We seem to be sliding toward a dystopian style of future:

Except is it really an “imagined state or society” anymore?

Children in masks, children being turned from a boy/girl to the opposite girl/boy, of how they were born biologically, starting murdering illegal wars and running away, embracing fake existences as in transgender crap, all with a phone in our face, crying wolf constantly, unable to accept that we cannot all be #1, turning away from God, ignoring culture, ignore history, ignoring suffering, ignoring all the ignoring of the ignoramuses…

There are so many ways to lose identity and it looks like the smartphone has been the perfect weapon. Heaven forbid when we start having smartphones embedded in our heads at birth…

I know: Give birth, embedded electronic device, parents can chose what sex the baby is a dozen or more times (even make them a pineapple if you so desire) as the baby grows up to be a psychotic invalid and all the while we can track our children due to the GPS/Phone tracking device in their heads from birth…
