Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation (23 March 2024)

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.

In Kupyansk direction, units of the Zapad Group of Forces, aviation, and artillery inflicted fire damage on manpower and hardware of the AFU 32nd Mechanised Brigade, and repelled three enemy attacks near Sinkovka (Kharkov region).

The enemy losses were up to 20 troops, three motor vehicles, one French-made Caesar self-propelled artillery system, and one Grad MLRS combat vehicle.

In Donetsk direction, units of the Yug Group of Forces liberated Krasnoye (Donetsk People’s Republic), and improved tactical situation on the front line.

Air strikes and artillery fire defeated units of AFU 42nd mechanised, 17th tank, 92nd assault, 79th air assault, 46th, 81st airmobile brigades close to Kleshcheyevka, Kurdyumovka, Paraskoviyevka, Krasnogorovka, Maksimilyanovka (Donetsk People’s Republic), and Belogorovka (Lugansk People’s Republic).

Four attacks of the AFU 67th Mechanised Brigade’s assault groups were repelled near Bogdanovka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The enemy losses amounted to up to 200 Ukrainian troops, two armoured fighting vehicles, eight motor vehicles, and one Grad MLRS combat vehicle.

In Avdeyevka direction, the Tsentr Group of Forces’ units captured more favourable positions, and hit clusters of manpower and hardware of AFU 59th mechanised infantry, 23rd, 53rd mechanised brigades close to Neytalovo, Umanskoye, Ocheretino, and Toretsk (Donetsk People’s Republic).

In addition, 12 counter-attacks launched by units of AFU 25th airborne, 3rd assault, 24th, 47th mechanised brigades were repelled near Novgorodskoye, Semyonovka, Orlovka, Tonenkoye, and Berdichi (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The enemy lost up to 350 Ukrainian troops, two armoured fighting vehicles, and five motor vehicles. In the course of the counter-battery warfare, the Russian troops hit one Czech-made DANA self-propelled artillery system, one D-20 howitzer, one Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, and one U.S.-made M119 gun.

In South Donetsk direction, units of the Vostok Group of Forces improved situation on the front line, and inflicted fire damage on AFU 58th mechanised infantry, 72nd mechanised brigades close to Urozhaynoye, Makarovka, Ugledar (Donetsk People’s Republic).

Moreover, one enemy attack was repelled close to Vodyanoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The enemy lost up to 65 Ukrainian troops and three motor vehicles.

In Kherson direction, units of the Dnepr Group of Forces hit clusters of manpower and hardware of AFU 128th, 65th mechanised, 35th marines brigades near Rabotino (Zaporozhye region), Tokarevka (Kherson region).

The enemy losses were up to 40 Ukrainian servicemen, five pick-up trucks, and two U.S.-made M777 artillery systems.

Operational-Tactical Aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, and Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces have engaged two S-300 SAM systems, one P-18 radar, one illumination and surveillance radar, one temporary deployment area of foreign mercenaries, as well as manpower and hardware of the AFU in 149 areas during the day.

Air defence systems have shot down 171 AFU UAVs, as well as 29 U.S.-made HIMARS and Czech-made Vampire MLRS projectiles.

In total, 577 airplanes and 270 helicopters, 16,736 unmanned aerial vehicles, 489 air defence missile systems, 15,576 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,254 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 8,497 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 20,101 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.

⚡️ Investigative actions continue in the criminal case of the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall.

An investigative team consisting of investigators, criminologists and experts from the Russian Investigative Committee continues to work at the scene of the incident in accordance with the detailed plan for the investigation of the criminal case. The inspection of the concert hall premises and the seizure of material evidence continues as emergency services clear the rubble, recordings from CCTV cameras are being studied, and work has begun with the victims.

❗️ At the moment, it is established that the death toll is 93 people. The death toll will rise further. According to preliminary data, the causes of death were gunshot wounds and poisoning by combustion products.

Preliminary results of the inspection of the premises of the concert hall indicate that the terrorists used automatic weapons during the attack, which, along with the ammunition they left behind, were discovered and seized by ICR investigators. Based on this material evidence, ballistic, genetic and fingerprint examinations are currently being carried out.

It was also established that the terrorists used a flammable liquid to set fire to the premises of the concert hall, where there were spectators, including the wounded.

Следственная группа из числа следователей, криминалистов и экспертов СК России продолжает работу на месте происшествия в соответствии с детальным планом расследования уголовного дела. Продолжается осмотр помещений концертного зала и изъятие вещественных доказательств по мере расчистки экстренными службами завалов, изучаются записи с камер видеонаблюдения, начата работа с потерпевшими.

❗️На данный момент установлено, что количество погибших составляет 93 человека. Число погибших еще возрастет. По предварительным данным, причинами гибели людей стали огнестрельные ранения и отравление продуктами горения.

Предварительные итоги осмотра помещений концертного зала свидетельствуют о том, что террористы при нападении использовали автоматическое оружие, которое наряду с оставленными ими боеприпасами обнаружено и изъято следователями СКР. По данным вещественным доказательствам в настоящее время проводятся баллистическая, генетическая и дактилоскопическая экспертизы.

Также установлено, что террористы применяли легковоспламеняющуюся жидкость для поджога помещений концертного зала, где находились зрители, в том числе раненые.

⚡️ Investigators and criminologists of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continue to work at the site of the terrorist attack in Krasnogorsk near Moscow at Crocus City Hall.

The collection and procedural consolidation of evidence in the criminal case continues in order to reconstruct all the circumstances of the incident.

During the inspection of the crime scene, no booby-trapped bodies or other traces of mining were found.

4 sets of combat ammunition (unloading), more than 500 cartridges and 28 magazines, 2 Kalashnikov assault rifles, which the attackers were armed with, were confiscated from the scene of the tragedy.

When the suspects were detained in the Bryansk region, a Makarov pistol and a magazine from a Kalashnikov assault rifle were found and seized in a Renault car. The necessary comprehensive examinations have been ordered for the seized weapons.

Investigative actions are being carried out with those suspected of committing a terrorist attack. In the near future, investigators from the Russian Investigative Committee will take measures to select a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to the four suspects.

Identification of the bodies of the dead continues. So far, the bodies of 137 people have been found at the site of the terrorist attack, three of which are children. The investigation of the crime scene continues. To date, 62 bodies have been identified. For the remaining victims, genetic examinations are being carried out to establish their identities.

Investigative actions are being carried out with the victims. Work has begun to issue personal belongings, documents and cars to people who were in the concert complex on the day of the terrorist attack.

The investigation of the criminal case is under the personal control of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

⚡️Следователи и криминалисты Следственного комитета Российской Федерации продолжают работу на месте теракта в подмосковном Красногорске в «Крокус Сити Холле»

Продолжается сбор и процессуальное закрепление доказательственной базы по уголовному делу с целью воссоздания всех обстоятельств произошедшего.

В ходе осмотра места преступления не обнаружено заминированных тел и иных следов минирования.

С места трагедии изъято 4 комплекта боевой амуниции (разгрузки), более 500 патронов и 28 магазинов, 2 автомата Калашникова, которыми были вооружены нападавшие.

При задержании подозреваемых на территории Брянской области в автомобиле «Рено» обнаружен и изъят пистолет Макарова и магазин от автомата Калашникова. По изъятому оружию назначены необходимые комплексные экспертизы.

Проводятся следственные действия с подозреваемыми в совершении теракта. В ближайшее время следователями СК России будут приняты меры для избрания в отношении четверых подозреваемых меры пресечения в виде заключения под стражу.

Продолжается опознание тел погибших. На данный момент на месте теракта обнаружены тела 137 человек, трое из которых – дети. Осмотр места преступления продолжается. К настоящему времени опознано 62 тела. По остальным погибшим для установлениях их личности проводятся генетические экспертизы.

Проводятся следственные действия с потерпевшими. Начата работа по выдаче личных вещей, документов и автомобилей лицам, которые в день теракта находились в концертном комплексе.

Расследование уголовного дела находится на личном контроле Председателя Следственного комитета Российской Федерации.

Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation (16–22 March 2024)

Today, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a massive long-range air-launched, sea-launched, ground-based and unmanned aerial attack against power facilities, military industrial complex, railroad hubs, arsenals, deployment areas of AFU troops and foreign mercenaries.

The strike disrupted the functioning of the manufacturing enterprises involved in issuing and repairing weapons, military hardware and ammunition.

In addition, foreign military equipment and weapons delivered to Ukraine from NATO countries have been destroyed, the transfer of enemy reserves to the front line has been disrupted, and AFU and mercenary units have been neutralised in reconstitution areas.

All the targets have been achieved.

From 16 to 22 March 2024, in response to shelling of Russian territory, attempts to break through, and capture Russian border settlements, the Russian Armed Forces carried out 49 air high-precision strikes, including Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, missile systems, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

The strikes hit AFU decision making centres, airfield infrastructure, an armament and military hardware repair workshop, UAV storage depots, and uncrewed surface vehicles, logistics support bases, as well as temporary deployment areas of special operations forces and foreign mercenaries.

In Kupyansk direction, units of the Zapad Group of Forces have engaged the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of Kotlyarovka, Berestovoye, Kislovka, Yagodnoye, Timkovka (Kharkov region), Chervonaya Dibrova and Nadiya (Lugansk People’s Republic).

Thirteen counter-attacks of assault groups of the AFU 57th Motorised Infantry Brigade, the 30th and 32nd Mechanised brigades, as well as of the 18th Ukrainian National Guard Brigade close to Sinkovka (Kharkov region) and Terny (Donetsk People’s Republic) have been repelled.

The AFU losses amounted to up to 400 Ukrainian troops, three tanks, three armoured fighting vehicles, 25 motor vehicles, and 19 field artillery guns.

Over the past week, Ukrainian fighters attempted to breach the border areas of Belgorod and Kursk regions. All the attacks have been repelled by the coordinated actions of the Russian State border covering force.

In Belgorod direction, more than 3,000 Ukrainian servicemen and militants of terrorist formations, seven tanks, 15 armoured vehicles, and 17 motor vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been eliminated during the week.

In Donetsk direction, the Yug Group of Forces has liberated the Alebastrovaya railway station (Donetsk People’s Republic) and improved the situation along the front line.

One airborne assault brigade, one tank brigade, two airmobile brigades, four mechanised brigades, and three assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as three territorial defence brigades have been hit close to Razdolovka, Krasnoye, Andreyevka, Kleshcheyevka, Kurdyumovka, Konstantinovka, and Georgiyevka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

Ten counter-attacks of the AFU 46th and 81st airmobile brigades have been repelled near Belogorovka, Krasnogorovka, and Novomikhailovka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The enemy losses amounted to more than 1,885 Ukrainian troops, six tanks, 13 armoured fighting vehicles, 41 motor vehicles, 17 field artillery guns, and nine field ammunition depots.

In Avdeyevka direction, the Tsentr Group of Forces liberated Orlovka and Tonenkoye (Donetsk People’s Republic) in cooperation with aviation and artillery.

Strikes were delivered at manpower and hardware of seven brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine close to Berdychi, Netaylovo, Semenovka, Pervomayskoye, Novogorodskoye, Umanskoye, and Ocheretino (Donetsk People’s Republic).

Forty-two counter-attacks of the AFU’s 47th Mechanised, 59th Motorised Infantry, 78th Air Assault, and 3rd Assault brigades have been repelled close to Leninskoye, Novobakhmutovka, Orlovka, and Vodyanoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

Over 2,195 Ukrainian troops, two tanks, 21 armoured fighting vehicles, 65 motor vehicles, and 28 field artillery guns have been eliminated during the week.

In South Donetsk direction, the Vostok Group of Forces liberated Mirnoye (Zaporozhye region) and improved its tactical position along the front line.

In addition, strikes were delivered at units of the 1st of Ukrainian National Guard Brigade, 127th and 128th territorial defence brigades close to Shakhterskoye, Rovnopol, and Urozhaynoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

Five counter-attacks of the AFU 72nd mechanised, 58th motorised infantry brigades have been repelled close to Urozhaynoye and Vladimirovka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The AFU losses amounted to more than 935 Ukrainian troops, three tanks, 11 armoured fighting vehicles, 25 motor vehicles, and seven field artillery guns.

In Kherson direction, the Russian troops inflicted fire damage on the 28th, 65th mechanised, 128th assault brigades, the 121st and 126th territorial defence brigades, the 35th marine brigades close to Rabotino, Stepnogorsk, Shcherbaki, Stepnoye (Zaporozhye region), Ivanovka, and Nikolskoye (Kherson region).

The AFU losses amounted to more than 330 Ukrainian troops, 22 motor vehicles, and 11 field artillery guns.

During the week, the Groups’ Missile Troops and Artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles have neutralised nine Czech-made Vampire MLRS launchers, one German-made IRIS-T air defence battery, two U.S.-made AN/TPQ-50 and AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery warfare stations, as well as four Ukrainian Anklav-N, Nota, and Bukovel-AD electronic warfare stations.

Russian air defence systems have shot down one Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force during the week, along with two Tochka-U tactical missiles, two S-200 converted surface-to-surface guided missiles, 156 projectiles of HIMARS, Vampire, Grad, Olkha, and Uragan MLRS, and 992 unmanned aerial vehicles.

In total, 577 airplanes and 270 helicopters, 16,565 unmanned aerial vehicles, 487 air defence missile systems, 15,572 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,252 combat vehicles of multiple rocket launcher systems, 8,490 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 20,057 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.

🇺🇦🤡 Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov indirectly confirmed involvement in the terrorist attack in Crocus.

On Ukrainian television, he said that “we will give them this kind of fun more often.”

Производится осмотр тел погибших. Предварительно установлено, что погибших в результате теракта более 60 человек. К сожалению, количество жертв может увеличиться.

С места преступления изымаются вещественные доказательства, в том числе оружие и боеприпасы, назначаются и уже проводятся все необходимые экспертизы, в том числе генетические, баллистические, дактилоскопические.
Изымаются и изучаются записи с камер видеонаблюдения.
