Our Volga that we have named Sammy, has been through the wringer…
We have had a very bad experience with the last mechanic that worked on her. We did get a clutch put in and we did get a few other things done….but we ran into a situation with the mechanic being a drunk…
So while we found early work done in the day okay, the late night work was all terrible. It seems that he would have friends come over and the party started & people worked on the car who should have never touched it…
Some way and how: Sammy got her engine literally blown up and we finally had some local boys from the Big Village make a trip to where Sammy was in a small village and gathered the pieces….Good to have friends in the Good Ole Boy local section…
They collected most of the money, the parts used and communicated properly to the drunks. Now Sammy the Volga is being resurrected as I write this. The engine has been rebuilt, the clutch definitely has been rebuilt, the brakes are rebuilt and today the front end gets redone and a universal joint put in the right spot. EG… The last guy (drunk) installed a new joint in the same spot that I just installed one myself and ignored completely the bad joint….I don’t know, stupid maybe?
What started out to be a simple install a clutch, turned out to be, because of someone we tried to trust locally, really bad. I have spent days myself after the engine being corrected, fixing many things and after I got under the car….found so many things destroyed, maybe intentionally. I am starting to see the pattern now and after we realized that many guys had played around with Sammy the Volga during the drunk party nights, looking like someone wanted to hate me as the American…
It is rare, yet I find these people every once in awhile…
Live and learn, I guess!
Therefore, I take Sammy back to the Big Village this morning and we will have more work done…
Let me tell you though; The engine purrs like a kitten now and runs like a striped ass ape!
Never knew she could smoke the tires, because it never could…
I always wondered how things so simple, become such messes?
And it is against the law in Russia to beat some sense into someone & since this person is totally senseless to begin with….I would wear myself out trying to beat sense into that person…
My fault for trusting the guy!
