Today for Thanksgiving, we will have Turkey, Bread Dressing, Butter Squash, Baked Sweet Potato, Salad Greens and a Sweet Potato Pie…
I already this morning put the pie together and ready to bake, the dressing is ready to bake and the Turkey is ready to bake. The butter squash will be boiled later, as it takes no time to speak of to cook and we even bought whipped cream to put on the pie…
Sweetpea thinks she is getting Pumpkin Pie, but I decided to let her enjoy a Southern favorite when I was in Georgia, USA and make her a surprise pie today. Sweet Potatoes are becoming popular in Russia and oh so good…

To percolate a pot of coffee…
I am sipping on a cup right now and it is brewed with Paulig Green bag Presidential coffee. Paulig has been a food service standard for many years. Drank a bunch of Paulig Classic in my time. All I served at my restaurants that I owned personally…
The pot is not a classic stainless pot with a clear percolator top, but it works and works good. You can hear it gurgle and gurgle as it pumps the water to the top of the pot and drains down through the coffee grounds…
Oh My, smells so wonderful as it brews the old fashion way…
I could never embrace pour-over coffee makers, used them, but never embraced them as the cats meow. Coffee is one of those things that has to be done correctly and or not do it at all… (I adapted that thinking when I came to Russia and found an instant type world of coffee and or boiled grounds Turkish coffee (Anyone read coffee grounds in the cup? Yup!). That is all changing as Russia has embraced coffee as the drink to rival tea…)
Iced coffee? Sweet Coffee? All this new fanged coffee? What is wrong with just coffee? Hot, fresh brewed, not bitter, no sugar and a slash of cream… (And black when life gets rough.)
My Sweetpea bought me some Paulig online and I think that means she loves me? 🙂
Then after trying it, she bought me a whole kilo or so of ground Paulig and now I am enjoying fresh brewed. I still use my Nescafe instant, yet a pot of fresh brew at 4:30 a.m. just cannot be beat…

Finding this pot was not easy and while I found variations of a percolator, nothing was good enough to call a real percolator. Yes I know real men chew coffee grounds, I guess I am not a real man?

I present to you fresh footage from the Kherson direction. Servicemen of the “North” regiment named after the Hero of Russia Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov of the FSVNG of the Russian Federation, under the leadership of dear BROTHER, the commander of the “Thunderstorm” regiment Khasmagomed Magomadov, successfully repelled several enemy attacks.

As a result of rash actions, the enemy suffered heavy losses. In particular, up to 200 nationalists were destroyed, as well as several units of heavy military equipment and passenger vehicles intended for transporting personnel. The guys eliminated the threat as quickly as possible and without losses, which confirms the high professionalism of the fighters of the Sever regiment. At the same time, they replenished their already rich arsenal with captured Western weapons.

It is worth noting that among the destroyed militants this time a large number of American and Polish mercenaries. However, I believe that there are no so-called “mercenaries” there, and this whole legend about the international legion was invented only to hide the presence of NATO troops in Ukraine. Nevertheless, the attackers were destroyed, and this fact clearly tells us that even the supposedly strongest army in the world is only capable of hiding behind ordinary soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, this strategy did not justify itself this time.

Thanks to the courage and bravery of the Chechen fighters as well, the enemy is gradually realizing its helplessness and the senselessness of any attempts at a counteroffensive.

Russia has a long border with literally both east and west and as we know China makes pretty much everything for the whole world. Yes, it would be better if Russia made its own stuff completely. But not everything can be that way. So while Russia has supplied for itself very well, there are things that come from areas that cannot easily be produced in Russia due to climate and such…
So now as in the past when people in the villages in Russia need something from the rest of the world, they get together and rent a bus, take a train, drive their LADA, or Gaz Gazelle truck, and or walk across with a two wheeler or a cart, regardless, they cross the border to China, fill it anything of value to the villages, so you can hardly see out of the windows and go back home to their Russian village. With their booty…
This use to be what was done with the Baltic States up north (now the NSA – Nazi States of America) and it is was a very lucrative business for all of Russia and the Baltic’s. Now those little very poor countries have lost that true income in cash from sales of goods to Russia. Finland was a wonderful place to cross the boarder om foot, for a babushka and she came home loaded with goodies…
I have talked many times on this website about how the trains running to Europe are not just carrying people, but also tons of goods being carried by those people. I know, I have traveled trains a bunch in Russia. Very big business and now China gets ‘all’ that business…
