⚡️ Statement of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation
◽️ Until the situation around the committed by Ukraine on October 29 of this year is clarified. terrorist action against warships and civilian vessels in the city of Sevastopol, traffic along the security corridor defined by the Black Sea Initiative has been suspended.
◽️ We emphasize that the Russian Federation, as the main participant in these agreements, does not withdraw from them, but suspends them.
◽️ In this regard, the movement of ships along the security corridor is unacceptable, since the Ukrainian leadership and the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine use it to conduct military operations against the Russian Federation.
◽️ Under the current conditions, there can be no question of guaranteeing the security of any object in the indicated direction until the Ukrainian side accepts additional obligations not to use this route for military purposes.
◽️ Taking into account the fact that the signing of the agreement – the Initiative for the Safe Transportation of Grain and Food from the Ports of Ukraine (the “Black Sea Initiative”) and its implementation were carried out through the mediation of the UN Secretary-General A. Guterres, brought our position to him and the UN Security Council.
◽️ We count on the assistance of an international organization in obtaining guarantees from Ukraine on the non-use of the humanitarian corridor and Ukrainian ports, determined in the interests of exporting agricultural products, to conduct military operations against the Russian Federation.

💬 On Saturday, October 29, at about 4 a.m., the Ukrainian armed forces, under the cover of the humanitarian “grain corridor” created as part of the Black Sea Initiative, launched massive air and sea strikes on ships and infrastructure of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol.
🔹 According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the preparation of this terrorist attack was carried out by Kyiv under the guidance of British specialists located in the port of Ochakov, Mykolaiv region of Ukraine. Also noteworthy is the presence on Saturday in the sky over the Black Sea near the coast of Crimea of the US strategic reconnaissance drone “RQ-4В Global Hawk”.
🔹 We are surprised that the UN leadership not only did not condemn, but did not even express concern in connection with terrorist attacks under the guise of a humanitarian corridor.
❗️ We proceed from the fact that the “Black Sea Initiative” concluded between Russia, Turkey and Ukraine upon the assurance of the UN on July 22 should not be carried out without us, and the decisions and measures taken without our participation do not oblige us to anything. At the same time, taking into account the existing facts of abuse of the humanitarian corridor, and in general the fact that the Black Sea remains a war zone, we cannot allow the unhindered passage of ships without our inspection and will be forced to take independent measures to control the missed SCs without our approval of dry cargo ships. We will detail our conclusions and approaches to the implementation of the “grain deal” in the near future.
⚠️ We are surprised that the UN leadership not only did not condemn, but did not even express concern in connection with terrorist attacks under the guise of a humanitarian corridor. The UN Secretariat first promptly reclassified the “grain deal” from humanitarian to commercial, and now it “turns a blind eye” to its use for military purposes.
