In any case, the Russians would be broke, devastated financially, and still be forced by Ukraine as they attacked Donbass, to hurl their army in a panic against Ukraine’s superior fortifications (remember NATO trained the Ukraine army), resulting for Russia such massive losses in expense and men that, as Lloyd Austin said, “We want to see Russia weakened to the degree that it can’t do the kinds of things that it has done in invading Ukraine.”
At the point Russia encountered such incredible fortifications of western design, fortifications that the west knew would stop their armies “cold turkey”. The West believed, no they knew, without any doubt, Russia’s ability to resist either economically or militarily would be so eroded as to be approaching collapse and Putin assassinated or at the very least thrown to the streets.
