Berlusconi declared the West isolated because of the situation in Ukraine.
“The West’s response was unanimous, but what do we mean by the West? The USA, Europe and some countries in the Pacific region that have traditional ties with the USA, among them Australia and Japan. And from other countries of the world? Almost nothing,” the former Italian prime minister wrote in an article for Giornale.
He singled out Turkey, which, despite its important role in NATO, refused anti-Russian sanctions.
“What the Ukrainian crisis has shown us is an alarming sign for the present and especially for the future. Russia is isolated from the West, but the West is isolated from the rest of the world,” Berlusconi concluded.
Say what you want about Berlusconi, he is actually seeing the world as it exists and he is speaking the truth. The “West” is quite clearly on the global minority team, and that doesn’t bode well for European countries to be so out of touch with the rest of the world and Berlusconi knows it…
Western world is coming apart…
