Chinese Foreign Ministry denies reports of the Five Eyes alliance

BEIJING, May 25 (Xinhua) — Everyone knows that the Five Eyes Alliance is the world’s largest intelligence organization, and the US National Security Agency (NSA) is the world’s largest hacker organization. They joined forces to publish false news reports, which is ironic in itself. This was stated on Thursday by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning.

Mao Ning made the announcement in response to a reporter’s question about a report released on Wednesday by some Western countries and the US-based Microsoft analytics team. The document said that a group of Chinese hackers had recently launched attacks on key US infrastructure, including the island of Guam.

The report is “far-fetched” and has serious omissions in the evidence chain, Mao Ning said, adding that China also took into account that the NSA and the cybersecurity agencies of the UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand released similar reports almost simultaneously.

“Apparently, this was a collective disinformation campaign initiated by the US within the framework of the Five Eyes alliance for its own geopolitical purposes,” she said.

Regarding the involvement of some companies in the preparation of this report, it shows that the US, in addition to government agencies, is using new channels to spread false information, said Mao Ning, noting that this is not the first and certainly not the last time they they do so.

But no matter what, that won’t change the fact that the US itself is a “hacker empire,” Mao Ning said.
