Gennady-Nikmamat, a former Soviet soldier: The Last in Afghanistan…

What a wonderful video!

This is the unique story of Gennady-Nikmamat, a former Soviet soldier who was captured by the Mujahideen during the Soviet war in Afghanistan. He was presumed a traitor, which carried a criminal penalty if he ever returned to his homeland. Thus he had no choice but to stay in Afghanistan and adopt a Muslim way of life…

Gennady-Nikmamat married an Afghan woman, had four kids with her and has lived a full life, but the thought of returning home one day never abandoned him. After finally coming back to Ukraine to see his relatives and visit his parents’ graves for the first time, he still can’t decide for himself whether it was better that he survive or if he should have ended up just another unknown soldier lost in the turmoil of war…

Djerba, Tunisia is Next Big Trip for Sveta and I…

Djerba, Tunisia – A large island, approximately 20 by 20 kilometers, Djerba lies just off the northeastern coast of Africa, in southeastern Tunisia, near the Libyan border…

Sveta just paid the bill and we have tied up a spot on the 30th of September, 2012 to Djerba. It is a twice a month flight that leaves out of Moscow for Russians. Now while Djerba is predominately a French holiday travel spot. We decided to try it out, as no visa is needed for either of us…

This is a link to a site that gives information about our hotel…

http://www.hotelscombined.com/Hotel/Sun_Club_Hotel_Djerba.htm

We found some very very good deals that are all inclusive, with air tickets and since it was a cheap as Turkey to go there! Well why not? Fun in the sun and there is lots to see of a very diverse and old culture…

Next on my thoughts this morning is that Sveta and I are leaving Saturday to go for one or two weeks to the village. Time for the last village trip as Winter is knocking on the door and in Russia if you blink several times, the Winter is looking at you again…

So while we will be messing around some with the sites, we will not be too worried about posting. We are going to the Village to enjoy life… 🙂

Just Ain’t Fair, I just Got Ice Cream Sandwich Perfected…

First I had blended ICS and Gingerbread together and made a great operating system. Then I stripped ICS of all its trash and rebuilt it back to make it a fast and stable operating system, now they have thrown Jelly Bean at the whole mess and now I find myself in a quandary. Do I try to blend Jelly Bean with ICS or stay with what I have done and just be happy?

Oops, I guess I better back track a second and tell you that I am talking about Android Phones and Android Operating Systems…

You see Google has tossed a new version of Android into the works (Jelly Bean) and now I have found a Jelly Bean ROM to play with and I see that the kid in me is interested in playing some more. (Attention: ROM – “Read Only Memory” and not a gypsy man or boy!)

The Russian landscape in operating system software, or any type of software is fantastic. The Russians have some of the best programers I have every seen and the truth is, it is because they do not have to look over their shoulders all the time and check to see if “Big Brother” is watching them. They are free to experiment as they please and that is how I do now, that the same pressure has been lifted from my shoulders…

So back to the phones: I have the phone now capable of lasting two or three days before charging again and anyone familiar with Smart Phones, would see that is a miracle, to say the least. It took me months to get ICS to the point that it was not a battery hog and is stable as a granite block of stone. I had to dissect it and I removed all the Google apps and replace them with better substitutes. At least the apps that I wanted to keep. I gave it half the foot print that it had in memory (RAM) and that made ICS come to life. Instead of a sluggish OS it flies. like it should…

Examples:

Google Maps replaced with Soviet Military Maps… (It has old Soviet maps and also all new maps by various sources.)

Google Play Store replaced with Bazaar… (This is a wonderful Iranian Android app store and it just plain works!)

Original Home Launcher with HOLO… (This is a light and fast launcher that will replace the original!)

Just anything and everything can be replaced by something better! Yes email to camera app. I have replaced the regular camera application with two apps that together are less than half the size and do the job better (Called Quick Camera and Quick Video!). When I mean replace, I mean remove the old and use the new in its place, not in conjunction with…

Resisting an upgrade in any operating system is a weakness I have. I just downloaded a zip file with all the Jelly Bean apps and now it is time to dissect them and see what the difference is…

Looks like I will be working on a ICS/JB blend before long… 🙂

Coffee and My Thought… (08/20/2012)

Think about this while you are contemplating life and why life is stupid at times…

Everyday for a year the main stream media constantly barrages us with this so called fact below, that is unverifiable:

10,000 then 12,000 then 15,000 and now 17,000 and then today I heard the start of 20,000! That is how many have been killed in Syria. This of course is unverifiable, but the UN believes it…

Half of you Americans could not hardly name any capitals of the United States, states, much less name all 50 states, but you could instantly spout off how many people have been killed in Syria and claim it was a fact…

Why do you know this fact and not the other fact? Because the main stream media rams the lies down your throat until you believe it and since no one cares what the capitol of Wyoming is, duh who cares?

Point blank is that one is a real fact and boring and one is a lie and more interesting and is part of an agenda to overthrow Syria…

So my real thought today should be why, if we recite a daily death march in Syria, did we not have a daily death march daily over the Iraq war and the Afghanistan war?

I am not talking about a blog or something, but I am talking about the Main Stream Media. They have no issues with telling on Syria, but they had real issues telling on America as we killed:

Now I have heard as high as a million dead in Iraq, but lets takes this much less figure from a site that I would say is pretty correct…

100,000 plus and climbing dead civilians in Iraq by American intervention… (http://www.iraqbodycount.org/)

In Afghanistan the numbers are much more concealed, but I see around 10,000 as a good number of dead civilians. That makes sense, because Afghans have a torrid past that has trained them well to hide from invaders… (U.N.: 1,145 Afghan civilians killed in 2012!)

So I am asking myself today: “Where is the daily Main Stream Media report on all the civilians that we (America) kills everyday?”

Think people think…

Pussy Riot, the Unfortunate Dupes of Amerikan Hegemony by Paul Craig Roberts…

My heart goes out to the three Russian women who comprise the Russian rock band, Pussy Riot. They were brutally deceived and used by the Washington-financed NGOs that have infiltrated Russia. Pussy Riot was sent on a mission that was clearly illegal under statutory law.

You have to admire and to appreciate the spunk of the young women. But you have to bemoan their gullibility. Washington needed a popular issue with which to demonize the Russian government for standing up to Washington’s intention to destroy Syria, just as Washington destroyed Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya, and as Washington intends to destroy Lebanon and Iran.

By intentionally offending religious worshipers – which would be a hate crime in the US and its European and British puppet states – the talented young women violated a statutory Russian law. […]

Paul Craig Roberts, a former Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury and former associate editor of the Wall Street Journal, has been reporting shocking cases of prosecutorial abuse for two decades.

As The War Drums Keep Beating and we stare at the “Eye of the Storm…”

So Obama just started the process to get ready to attack Syria!

WASHINGTON – President Obama has declared the threat of chemical or biological warfare in Syria a “red line” for the United States, outlining for the first time the point at which his administration could feel forced to intervene militarily in the Arab country’s increasingly messy conflict…

So Russia and China just fired that warning shot that I always talk about!

Russia and China have jointly called for other nations to strictly observe the UN charter and the international law after the US said it would bypass the UN in its actions on Syria. “Russia and China have very reliable criteria with which we measure all our steps. This is the necessity to strictly observe the norms of international law and the principles contained in the UN Charter, and not to allow their violation,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said as he was meeting with Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo in Moscow. “This is the only right way in modern conditions,” the Russian official added…

You see an attack on Syria will bring Iran into the picture, that brings Russia into the picture and China and then the world splinters like a piece of wood breaking lengthwise…

As it has been said and said well: I  know not with what weapons World War III will be fought with, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones. ” —Albert Einstein …

Maybe it is for the best. We seem to be unable to be happy and live in peace and harmony…

This is Interesting and it is What I have been Studying: Asylum in Russia…

He is being badmouthed by the Americans, but he is on the right track and what he says in the video is a whole bunch of truth!

Say what you want but I understand what he is saying and being happy in Russia is very easy…

I will be following this as I am working on an article about what it takes to get Asylum in Russia: No not in America, but Russia… 🙂

It is Almost Winter in Moscow, Russia…

Got up this morning and the temperature said, “+5 Celsius!” I walked the dog and it was cold, wind is blowing, leaves are falling off the trees and long underwear is standard again. So is a cup of hot coffee and that is what I am having now…

I was trying to understand when we had a summer and I realized that we did not have a summer. We had a long Winter to a tiny bitty Spring and then a tiny hot/warm Spring and now what will amount to a tiny Autumn and then back to a very long Winter… (The dog days of August, just do not happen!)

As I have said before, here in Russia, it seems that Winter is about 8 months long and at my last count, there is only 12 months in a year. So that makes Winter king of the seasons…

Now you know why you do not need air-conditioning in your car and definitely no air needed in your flat or house. A fan is totally sufficient for the few rough days we have with heat…

Sveta and I are leaving this weekend coming up to make that last trip to the Village. If we wait too much longer it will be too cold and we could easily get snowed in. I still have to finish a fence and we have to weather proof the Village home. Just seems like we did not get to enjoy the place near enough, but we will try to spend a a few weeks there this time and get it all finished…

Sveta and I also are taking a trip to Tunisia in September and or October and will spend a few weeks there. Sveta has to get to a beautiful beach and swim and since neither one of us have been to Tunisia and Tunisia is a good Russian and French watering hole, well why not go? So we are going…

It is strange still to this America to see Winter come so quick. The Russians see their seasons different than I do! They see a Winter, Spring , Summer and Fall, where as I see the same, but the seasons are not very pronounced and distinct. I guess when you grow up with three months of Summer at around 90 to 100 degrees F. Then a few weeks of mid 80’s does not mean Summer…

It struck me, as it is this way: Kids are in school all through the Winter, then when school lets out for the Summer break. You have Spring, Summer and Fall all in that School break time. Then kids are back in school and it is Winter again…

So during basically the same time frame as in America, when the school let out for Summer break. We have three full seasons here in Moscow, Russia…

Kinda cool and strange at the same time. That is why I love Russia…

Raub, 26, a Marine Corps veteran…

I have seen the video and I know what I believe and this is definitely a sign of the way America is and will progress, until you all hide under the bed…

Brandon J. Raub has been ordered to stay in a mental health institution for a month without charge – and contrary to the American constitution, his defense says. His supporters are concerned any American could end up in Raub’s shoes.

US police detained Raub, 26, a Marine Corps veteran, on Thursday, without presenting any charges and even without reading to Raub his Miranda rights, and took him to John Randolph Medical Center, where he is currently being held involuntarily, his defense said in a press-release.

A video of his detention emerged online, triggering outrage online, including among American citizens and human rights activists.

“For government officials to not only arrest Brandon Raub for doing nothing more than exercising his First Amendment rights [to freedom of speech], but to actually force him to undergo psychological evaluations and detain him against his will goes against every constitutional principle this country was founded upon,” said John Whitehead, executive director of the Rutherford Institute, a civil liberties group that has come to the Raub’s defense.

I don’t accept it and it is time for a change in the American political situation. But how is it going to be done? You stand up against it and you will be taken down…

That is the point, a single you can not do it, but a whole bunch of you’s can do it…

Freedom is gone in America…

Russia is buying that Gold at a steady pace…

In June of 2012, the Russian Central Bank has increased its total deposits of monetary gold by 18.6 tons or around 595,200 ounces of gold. Thus, at present, these deposits make a total holding of 936.2 tons or around 29,958,400 ounces. The deposits included standard golden bars and coins, all of which belong to the Central bank and to the Russian government. Earlier this year, Russia’s Central Bank has announced many times that the bank was going to increase its gold deposits. The increase is to be on a continual basis indefinitely…
