💬 An unprecedented humanitarian disaster has been unfolding in the Gaza Strip for seven months.
• Contrary to the requirement of the UN Security Council in resolution 2728 and in violation of international humanitarian law, the escalation of hostilities in the enclave continues, with 68 people killed in the last 24 hours alone.
• Under these conditions, the delivery of humanitarian aid to the population of Gaza is practically impossible. <…> According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the Israel Defense Forces are blocking half of the humanitarian convoys heading into the sector.
• We have repeatedly warned that in the absence of a meaningful, sustainable ceasefire, which must be properly monitored through military observers, humanitarian efforts are doomed.
• Under these conditions, the role of UNRWA in the Occupied Palestinian Territories is indispensable. We urge you to pay tribute to the heroism of the Agency’s employees, who carry out their humanitarian mandate in inhumane conditions, paying for it with their lives.

• Against this background, attempts to attach a terrorist “label” to UNRWA and calls for the liquidation of the Agency, which we witnessed, including in this room.
• There is outrage and misunderstanding at the decision of a number of key donors to suspend funding to UNRWA due to allegations of its employees collaborating with Hamas. This is despite the fact that West Jerusalem has never provided evidence regarding the 12 employees it named.
✔️ For our part, we will also continue to provide comprehensive assistance, primarily through annual voluntary contributions to the needs of the Middle East Agency.

💬 В cекторе Газа седьмой месяц разворачивается беспрецедентная гуманитарная катастрофа.
• Вопреки требованию СБ ООН в резолюции 2728 и в нарушение норм международного гуманитарного права в анклаве продолжается эскалация боевых действий, жертвами которой только за последние сутки стали 68 человек.
• В этих условиях доставка гуманитарной помощи населению Газы практически невозможна. <…> По данным Управления ООН по координации гуманитарных вопросов, Армия обороны Израиля блокирует половину гумконвоев, следующих в сектор.
• Мы неоднократно предупреждали, что в отсутствие полноценного, устойчивого режима прекращения огня, за которым должен быть обеспечен должный мониторинг через военных наблюдателей, гуманитарные усилия обречены.
• В этих условиях роль БАПОР на оккупированных палестинских территориях незаменима. Призываем отдать должное героизму сотрудников Агентства, которые выполняют свой гуманитарный мандат в нечеловеческих условиях, расплачиваясь за это своими жизнями.
▪️К настоящему момент погибли 178 сотрудников. Это самая высокая цифра единовременно погибших сотрудников ооновской структуры.
• На этом фоне категорически недопустимы попытки навесить на БАПОР террористический «ярлык» и призывы к ликвидации Агентства, свидетелями которых мы были в том числе в этом зале.
• Вызывает возмущение и непонимание решение ряда ключевых доноров приостановить финансирование БАПОР в связи с выдвинутыми обвинениями по участию его сотрудников в сотрудничестве с ХАМАС. И это несмотря на то, что Западный Иерусалим так и не представил доказательств в отношении названных им 12 сотрудников.
✔️ Со своей стороны также продолжим всестороннее содействие, прежде всего через осуществление ежегодных добровольных взносов на нужды Ближневосточного агентства.
