I tuned Sammy up, new plugs, new wires, new fuel filter, new oil filter & oil and waxed her twice. Sammy is one happy Russian car….I have to say that our Volga 310221 wagon is the best car I have ever owned. Not the fanciest, but the best. Maybe for someone in a huge city she is not the best, but when out in the middle of nowhere, being able to repair your car yourself (using what ever you have laying around) is priceless…
We do miss the propane and the cost factor of using it, but to put propane back on her is not cost effective. Be nice though…
All around the yard as I work are very busy birdbrains. I hammer, they hammer…
They work harder than I do….any post top that has cracks in it, has plum pits stuck in them. The birdbrains use the cracks to hold the pits and crack them open. Then you can here the sigh, as they enjoy their treat…
I think what amazes me is that these birdbrains can put two and two together and utilize the cracks to help them eat. Seriously, there are so many humans who cannot do the same & we think we are the smart ones on earth…
All day long, hammer hammer pop crack and aahhhhh…
I finally got to the Big Village and found a place to get nuts and washers for my threaded rod. Then yesterday, I climbed the ladder and drilled holes and installed a rod to hold the Y together of the maple tree. I have weathered several terrible storms this summer holding this tree together. I hope I have salvaged it? I cannot hang on to it all winter! Too Cold…
I did a plum tree also and ended up having to put in two rods. I found another limb cracking. We just had a wind storm and almost lost a big limb. Never ends in TRV…
I will seal the huge crack in the plum tree with ? and over the next few days make sure that the bolts do not loosen up and then paint the wounds…
I tried several years ago to seal the rear gate, yet I found that just did not hold up, so I decided to paint the rear gate and do some maintenance on it. This is the way in and out to the home that is utilized literally 95% of the time. It just works perfectly and is smooth to operate…
I find that the back of the home, with barn, car and sheds is the place I spend my time. Big lilacs and maples provide the shade and protection needed to enjoy life. It is like I have the front yard to present to the world and the back area to do my work at. I guess that is natural, yet that has evolved over the summer. At first I utilized the front area, then after finally getting the barn cleaned out and the sheds cleaned out….everything changed and I realized that I set the back of the home up as my domain to work…
Must be a subconscious thing. I never sat down and said, “Self, only work from the back yard!” 😉
