Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation (6 September 2023)

Last night, the Russian Aerospace Forces have carried out a group strike with long-range precision weapons against a training base for sabotage groups of the AFU.

The facility has been neutralised. The goal of the attack has been reached.

In Donetsk direction, units of the Yug Group of Forces, in cooperation with aviation and artillery, have repelled ten attacks by assault groups of 80th airborne assault, 110th mechanised and 59th motorised infantry brigades of the AFU close to Kleshcheevka, Orekhovo-Vasilyovka, Khimik, Nevelskoye, and Maryinka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

In addition, the 17th Tank Brigade of the AFU has inflicted a fire attack on manpower and hardware concentration areas near Artyomovsk (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The enemy losses were up to 285 Ukrainian servicemen, one tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, five motor vehicles, one Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, one Rapira gun, and one drone control post.
In South Donetsk direction, units of the Vostok Group of Forces, supported by aviation and artillery, have repelled an attack by an assault unit of the AFU 38th Mechanised Brigade near Novodonetskoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

In addition, enemy manpower and military hardware concentration areas have been hit near Urozhainoye and Novodonetskoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The enemy losses were over 180 Ukrainian servicemen, five tanks, two armoured fighting vehicles, two motor vehicles, one Polish-manufactured Krab self-propelled artillery system, two Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers, and one D-20 gun.

In Zaporozhye direction, units of the Russian grouping of troops, supported by aviation, artillery and heavy flamethrower systems, have repelled four enemy attacks near Verbovoye and Rabotino (Zaporozhye region).

There were no changes in the tactical position of Russian troops.

The enemy losses were up to 40 Ukrainian servicemen, one tank, two armoured fighting vehicles, two pickup trucks, two U.S.-manufactured M777 artillery systems, three U.S.-manufactured M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery systems, one UK-manufactured FH-70 gun, two Msta-B howitzers, two D-30 guns, and two Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems.

In Kupyansk direction, units of the Zapad Group of Forces, supported by aviation and artillery, conducting active defence, have improved the tactical situation near Sverdlovka (Lugansk People’s Republic).

In addition, two counterattacks by assault groups of the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade of the AFU have been repelled close to Sergeevka (Lugansk People’s Republic).

The enemy losses were up to 40 Ukrainian servicemen, two motor vehicles, one U.S.-manufactured M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery system, and one D-30 howitzer.

In Krasny Liman direction, as a result of competent actions by units of the Tsentr Group of Forces, aviation and artillery, two attacks by assault groups of the 12th Special Forces Brigade and the 63rd Mechanised Brigade of the AFU have been repelled close to Chervonaya Dibrova (Lugansk People’s Republic), and Serebryansky forestry.

The enemy losses were up to 50 Ukrainian servicemen, two armoured fighting vehicles, one Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, and one D-30 howitzer.

In Kherson direction, the enemy losses were up to 65 Ukrainian servicemen, four motor vehicles, and one Msta-B howitzer.

Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralised manpower and military hardware in 103 areas.

Air defence facilities have intercepted 12 HIMARS and Uragan rocket-propelled projectiles.

In addition, 17 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been intercepted and suppressed by electronic warfare means close to Makeevka, Novonikolskoye, Melovatka (Lugansk People’s Republic), Berestovoye (Donetsk People’s Republic), Pshenichnoye, Semyonovka (Zaporozhye region), Olshana (Kharkov region), and Krynki (Kherson region).

In total, 467 airplanes, 248 helicopters, 6,426 unmanned aerial vehicles, 435 air defence missile systems, 11,696 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,148 fighting vehicles equipped with MLRS, 6,253 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 12,749 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed during the special military operation.
