Based on the results of the initial investigative actions, the criminal case on the explosion in a cafe in St. Petersburg was reclassified to Part 3 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorist act).
According to the investigation, on April 2, 2023, an explosion occurred in a cafe in the center of St. Petersburg. As a result, military correspondent Maxim Fomin, known under the pseudonym Vladlen Tatarsky, died. In addition, more than 30 people received injuries of varying severity.
Darya Trepova was detained on suspicion of committing a crime. The necessary investigations are being carried out with her.
The investigation has evidence that the planning and organization of the committed crime were carried out from the territory of Ukraine. At the same time, Daria Trepova, who holds opposition views, is a supporter of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (the organization is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
