Living in Russia and coffee thoughts…

Coffeecup-wtrAs an expat living in Russia, I have no regrets leaving the USA. I do not reflect on the economic failures of yesterday, nor the guilt, but look forward to today and tomorrow. For me the decision was easy. Why live at the lower end of the economic scale in the US when I can live at the upper level here or almost anywhere else in the world. But the real difference is people in Russia seem to have a greater sense of happiness and have positive attitudes towards the future.

Yesterday I went to the dentist. It was time to clean my teeth, for it had been almost two years since I went to see a dentist. My teeth are good and now very clean, for the lady who did it was very thorough and caring. (Medical care in Russia has always been excellent for me! I feel cared for!)

It is always interesting when I as an American go to dental and doctor services in Russia. For I go where Russians go and not to the special American clinic downtown Moscow. Why would I go and get inferior service at the American clinic?

But all the staff always come and peek at me. They are intrinsically as Russians to be curious. Russians are intelligent and curiosity goes along with intelligence.

Therefore, I was on show and tell for an hour or so yesterday. Gotta love it and Russian women are so interesting as they use newspapers, magazines, file folders and such, to walk by and peek at me. They covered their faces and would look around or over the top of their folder to see me. For a Russian is never blatantly obvious about what they do, for that would be plain rude.

Russian women are cute in that way…

I break things; I break everything, but Boza and Sveta. I try hard not to break them, but everything else is fair game with my excessive strength and huge hands. Many times though, I break things and just do not know how I did it or why it happened. Sometimes it is obvious, at how I did it. Yesterday, I broke another tablet computer. I dropped it and it went, “Ouch Fool!”

I break things…

* * * * * * * * * *

The car broke; the ignition coil went out, the engine backfired through the carburetor and blew out the power valve. Thus in the next few days, after all the parts get here, I will repair the Volga. (And it is darn cold!)

See; I break things…

* * * * * * * * * *

It is snowing and snowing. I hope I do not get snowed in here in Moscow!!!!

* * * * * * * * * *

I have all the ingredients for our Thanksgiving meal. Last night we bought turkey thigh meat (our favorite,) bread crumbs for dressing and ginger cookies for the pumpkin pie crust. Yummy yummy yummy… and oh yes, I will make a cucumber and tomato salad for eating healthy. 😉

* * * * * * * * * *

It became obvious to me that the US government is at war with her own people; it is just that the people are either too scared or too dumb to care…

I realize that I will never step foot back in the US again. Thus, I am working on making sure I do not have to. For why would anyone want to deliberately walk into rules, regulations, obedience, fear, chaos and turmoil?

Peace and quiet is what the world needs and that is something you will find very little of in the west…

Have a nice day…

Valenki is Russian…

Valenki
Valenki

Yesterday while Sveta and I were shopping, we found a rare treat for me. We found  the famous Russian boot called valenki and it was in my size. The valenki is found everywhere, but in my size is rare and with a rubber sole for walking outside, even more rare. I now have my winter boots for the village. The warmest boot you will ever find and made of 100% wool (boots called valenki,) mine have rubber soles, but most valenki are made to slip into galoshes.

These are the most effective companions in an icy winter. With pure wool boots you’ll not be cold footed and able to endure cold all the way down to -80 ° C. That is serious cold and they are able to do this because they are from 100% natural sheep wool and ancient craft techniques are used. The valenki is made by hand.

Russians all know from earlier times, that the usage of wool products, improves blood circulation, helps with joint issues and provides protection against the cold, yet easy on overheating at the same time.

Russians believe that uncolored, natural, rough wool is characterized by the best healing power. Since wool felt is extremely waterproof, it will the perfect boot for snow activities. Not for nothing are these wool boots worn in Russia for hundreds of years and have tested themselves millions of times!

Valenki is Russia at its best and now I have a real pair of boots or as Russian say valenki…

Lidia Ruslanova Valenki Best Russian music Лидия Русланова Валенки – below…

The belief is; a bad person is simply not capable of making a good valenki…

Have a nice day…

We (plebs) really are not wanted…

Drones, AI, automation, robotics, why on earth would they the “self-chosen” keep us plebs around?

We are just using “their” resources. Like in breathing “their” air and eating “their” food.

How many of “us” do they actually need to maintain and grow food for “them” and then you realize “they” want us plebs dead.

The End of Obamaworld

patbuchannan1By Patrick J. Buchanan

In denouncing Republicans as “scared of widows and orphans,” and castigating those who prefer Christian refugees to Muslims coming to America, Barack Obama has come off as petulant and unpresidential.

Clearly, he is upset. And with good reason.He grossly, transparently underestimated the ability of ISIS, the “JV” team, to strike outside the caliphate into the heart of the West, and has egg all over his face. More critically, the liberal world order he has been preaching and predicting is receding before our eyes.Suddenly, his rhetoric is discordantly out of touch with reality. And, for his time on the global stage, the phrase “failed president” comes to mind.

Doublethink…

doublethink

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US President Barack Obama said on Wednesday that he had always supported Russia’s efforts in the fight against the Islamic State (ISIL) militant group.

Oh really? Always? Doublespeak? Doublethink?

Of course as we all know; “Political language… is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.” – George Orwell

An example of “doublethink” in George Orwell’s novel 1984. The totalitarian government of Oceania is consistently at war with one of the opposite two totalitarian superpowers that dominate the world: Eurasia and Eastasia. The target isn’t to win the war, however, it is to keep up a continuing state of war so as to hold its minions in check. Once it’s at war with Eastasia, the government declares that it’s perpetually been at war with Eastasia, and that its people are consistently evermore scorning the enemy that has to be destroyed. Once the coin falls the other way and the amendment that Eurasia is who we have been at war with and never not been at war with, thus a constant factor is alleged regarding Eurasia. Then it becomes and it’s thought-about each chauvinistic citizen’s duty to believe each statements are true. Even though they all know that it is not…

Gotta get out of dodge…

Next week we leave for the village!

Boza and I are getting cranky and short tempered. We need to get away from 15 million people all in one spot. The oppression of such masses of humanity is a very real effect upon the psych.

peeingI need to piss off the front porch, threaten ravens and foxes and spit at the pine trees, to be happy. I know that Boza needs to chase lions, tigers and elephants (He already pees anywhere outside that he likes anyway.) Neither of us can do these things in Moscow.

This weekend we will go to several big markets and such. I will stock up on goodies for the village and I also am starting to pack the car with what I am going to need for the winter. Time to get on the road and check out our Russian Village.

Cheap but works...
Cheap but works…

I already broke my new Windows Tablet, actually I should say, Windows update broke it, but I have to suffer and now it is being checked over for what happened. That would leave me with no tablet, but I bought a super cheap 1900 ruble Chinese Android Tablet. That is $30 for us conversion illiterate, like me. It works fantastic and all it is for, is to fill in the gap, as my other tablet is in the hospital.

Looks like my tablet in the village will be a cheap Android, for my other one will be in Moscow for awhile.

I did not have it even a week! Ugh!

* * * * * * * * * *

Vova my buddy called and asked when I would be coming back to the village. He also has a two year supply of wood (Oak) to be cut up and split being delivered at our village home. It seems he is getting excited about me coming to the village and keeps calling us. It is good to have a buddy in Russia…

Oh man! That is going to be a huge pile of logs…

* * * * * * * * * *

Well that is all today. Soon you will be seeing pictures from the Russian Village. That little tiny spot of heaven on a very messed up world…

Have a nice day…

Nice long enough…

I try!
I try!

Russia never included Ukraine in the food embargo against Europe for the sanctions illegally imposed by Europe, but they have warned about doing so to Ukraine also, for almost a year now. Ukraine has applied tons of illegal sanctions on their own and Russia has taken it all in stride. Russia has given and given and given, but that may be ending. Why even the Ukraine president still had a chocolate factory located in Russia up to just a few months ago and I still see the candy on the shelves…

January 1st, 2016: Russia will embargo all foods from Ukraine. That means around $1.5 billion dollars worth of food will no longer be bought by Russia. To Ukraine that is a huge chunk of money and will most likely send them the rest of the way to default.

I have been surprised at how long Russia has tolerated the shenanigans from Kiev, but I understand the brotherhood from the past. Though, like any family, the jerk of the family soon or later gets set aside and is allowed to swim on his or her own. Lets hope that Ukraine knows how to swim.

Ukraine does not have a market to sell goods to Europe and Europe does not want their goods anyway. If you have ever visited Ukraine and Russia, you would understand that there is a huge difference in what they consider good veggies compared to a western world. Huge difference and it holds true on all items that Ukraine could sell. Russia is the only real market for Ukraine to sell her goods to…

Sometimes family has to be slapped…

Putin: “To Forgive The Terrorists Is Up To God, But To Send Them To Him Is Up To Me!”

Hate Putin or love Putin, you still have to respect him and there simply is no leader on this planet that can match him at this moment.

I am, thus I am…

Coffee-iconDisclaimer: I am not an expert on Russia. No one claims that I am in the western society or media, thus I am not an expert. My knowledge has been erroneously gathered through first hand experience within living amongst the Russian people. The results that I portend are not final and perfected. I distaste the title expert and have no use for experts. But I will use the term loosely to entice your needs to learn about Russia. Thus I am an officially, an unofficial expert on Russia, through simple osmotic surveillance methods and techniques…

It struck me today that I am an expert on Russians. Maybe not expert like a Russian is, but as far as 99.9% of the western world, I am an expert on Russians. I am, thus I am…

I read many articles about Russia from so called experts on Russia, but 99.9% of them have not anywhere near the expertise that I have with Russians in everyday life. From one of the biggest cities (Moscow) in the world, to a village (Sunrise to Freedom) so small that it is lucky to have water half the time, much less electricity.

My best female friend is my sweet pea Svetlana and my best male friend is Vova from the Russian Village. My best non human friend is Boza, the Russian doggy.

This Christmas that is fast approaching, is my 10th Christmas in Russia. Ten years amongst the natives of the largest country in the world and ten years of living full time with them.

That is the key statement, 10 years full time in Russia. Not a few months a year as many so called experts acclaim to do, but ten years non stop. Ten years of dealing with bureaucracy, love, hate, happiness, sadness, prejudices and or a thousand other issues. All good and or bad.

I will state for the record that Russia is a huge ass country and to see it all is an undertaking of magnitudes that I doubt I could handle and or finance. Therefore, that said, I want to travel all of Russia regardless of any restrictions in my abilities…

I weigh and measure how much I let on about my Americanisms. I have many stores that I deal with and they do not have any idea that I am not Russian. I get in, buy and leave, as 90% of any Russian does. No words or questions and it makes life smooth.

There are stores that I have to have help and they are the ones who know, who and what I am. I am careful about who I let know. For one out of a million Russians get a little bit of an attitude at times. In fact, I do not blame them and I deserve the backlash.

For I am one of those damn Americans, who support the sanctions against Russia! Right?

* * * * * * * * * *

Thus, when I speak about what Russian do and what Russians are like, I am talking from experience and interaction as a daily routine.

Not as someone who walks into the Moscow airport and says, “I have been to Russia, I am an expert!” Or they live in an ivory tower, they work in an ivory tower and they only go to expat approved areas, such as expat bars. And they only walk around within a group of expats, just like themselves.

I have never in 10 years been to anything that has to do with expats in Russia and it looks like I never will. I came to Russia to see Russia.

* * * * * * * * * *

Yesterday I bought a few item from a store that I had never been to. It was an item that extended beyond my abilities (which are not extensive at all,) to communicate. So I had to use a paper with words to describe. The young man knew some English and between us both, I walked out of the store with my item. He was happy and I was happy and I knew by his reactions to me being American, I can go back and shop there in comfort.

* * * * * * * * * *

I very rarely go to McDonald’s, but yesterday I bought “two cheese burgers to go” (Dva cheeseburgers idti.) The young lady never flinched and never knew I was anything but a big grouchy bear. She asked me for coins and I let her pick through what I had in my pocket and she was happy. I always hold out my coin and let the cashier gather what she wants. I learned the trick from other dedushka (grouchy grandpa) type guys, such as I. 🙂

For your information; two cheeseburgers cost me 110 rubles. That equates into $1.70. Don’t call me a liar for the real price and your price sucks. Russia is the third cheapest place on Earth for eating at McDonald’s. (Ukraine and Venezuela are cheaper!)

* * * * * * * * * *

Now I am going to go and walk the Russian dog called Boza. He has been a good boy all morning and it is snowing. Boza loves snow and we will go play. I think that I will make the next few days a series of this topic, I just talked about.

I know Russians and you don’t. I know what it is like to live there and you don’t. I guess that is why I get so upset when I see all the lies about Russia in the western press and in peoples comments all over the internet.

I am really not an expert on Russians, but compared to 99.9% of the ones who say they are and write trash articles in the western media, I am, thus I am; an expert on Russia…

BUT! The evening news said…

Quote; People do not like to think. If one thinks, one must reach conclusions. Conclusions are not always pleasant. – Helen Keller

Thus according to the non thinking peerage, shaped by media incarnation. Which whom are not responsible for anything, anywhere, anytime or anyhow. Be it their actions and or their elected governmental actions…

The news use to say that Qaddafi (Libya) was going to massacre all his people, so we had to destroy the country (killing all the people) and pop a cap upon his ass…

The news also use to say that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, so we needed to F*** them up (killing all the people) and hang Saddam Hussein by rope in the old oak tree…

It now spouts that Assad gassed his people and kills them en masse in multiple of other ways, so says the media, that is why he needs to go, alive or dead does not matter to the west. (Assad is killing all his people.)

The Russians shot down MH 17; the evening news said so and they also said that Russia caused their own problem. (Thus, Russia is now killing all the people of Syria and not the U.S.)

Now we are listening to the fact that France is at war and the evil in the world shall regret the day it allowed terrorists to attack France. Lets kill all the people… (Oui Oui = Yes Yes)

All the above (and a million more) are perfect examples of “sound-bite journalism” (all lies,) which is where and or how, the “peerage” in the west get almost all their news…

images
You are toast…

We can’t be bothered to read past the headlines or do independent research. Even then if we try to research, all of us have been conditioned by the media, educators, and politicians since birth, and parroted by the Commander in Chief, that the USA stands only for good, never bad, and that is the only reason the world has not destroyed itself. For without America, the world is toast, stuck in a toaster on high…

The main stream media knows this and banks on us never reading the article, or listening beyond the first day of news casting about the issue…

Tell a western person anything against the grain, example; how the US has been destroying the ME and it’s people for over 50 years of brutal slaughter and they get apoplectic and call you a liar. Or better yet, they look at you like you just grew horns from your forehead.,,

Why I have seen people almost have apoplexy at the mention that their (US, Britain are perfect examples!) great country is a cesspool of corruption and death…
