Vladimir Putin the Russian president has requested directives to change and facilitate better visa standards for tourism. The president has requested that by November 1st, 2013 that a plan to reduce the pressures of getting a visa for tourists from all over the world be presented to him, so that it can be implemented by the new year…
The request has been put in Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s hands and he is too actualize a adequate and attainable ambiance for tourists, such as tourist friendly navigation, tourist friendly information services, tourist friendly hotels and coordination of a plan to enable all tourists facilities to be found under one roof…
I found this interesting as it was just a few days ago that I was ranting to Sveta and thinking of ways to convince Russia to get here act together and make it easy for people to travel Russia. I have found it interesting over the years, that I can go to Ukraine with no visa needed and stay 90 days, but Russia requires a visa just for me to even come and stay a week to see the Red Square in Moscow. That never made sense to me…
Maybe just maybe we will see something come of this. Putin is smart and he is seeing that people are leaving the west in droves. If Russia does not do something to make it easy to get inside the borders, then she will miss out on the brain drain come her way. I am watching many countries working on this issue and I have even seen China making the moves to alleviate issues with visas and the western world…
We will see…
