I have no doubt that Russia while being hurt by sanctions for a short time will survive, because she has been switching directions for years now. Russia has been, for as long as I have been writing about them, looking east, while at the same time letting the west slip into obscurity in an orderly fashion. This is the same that China has been doing also…
Russia will survive and come out stronger for all that is happening. I know this personally, for I have watched Russia change the wind in her sails and direct herself in another direction. I have watched India come forth, China and Asia as a whole step to the plate and finances and markets are opening up as you read this. Russia has already set herself up to deal with much of the world in other currencies and when you are a resource rich country, you have many options. Just like Iran did and has…
Russia is just being given the excuse to finish the turn started years ago, to the east. One day they will look back and wonder why they even cared about the western market at all…
But will a broke and indebted to their “ying yang” west survive? (I believe that the U.S. is so indebted that a hundred trillion dollars of debt, may be understating it …)
Russia is not broke and Russians will live within their means when push comes to shove. The west has not lived within their means in such a long time that they have forgotten how and not having an unlimited credit card scares them…
Already major western companies are whimpering at the effects of the sanctions against Russia. If they are whimpering now, then soon, so will the governments, for tax revenues is the life blood and if losses are occurring in a company (Such as Adidas (LOL), Visa (LOL again) and again (LOL plus LOL))
There is only one question, a question that I know the answer to, but it seems that governments in the U.S. / E.U. have not asked it or care to think about it…
Will the U.S. / E.U. survive the sanctions they impose against Russia?
I doubt it! (But then maybe that is the point?)
