Russians literally never borrow money from a bank and Russians despise banks. So targeting a Russian bank only hurts the western companies trying to do business in Russia. If you told a Russian that he could never borrow money again. He would look at you like you are from mars or something like that. That is an important issue to understand, Russia is resource rich and the people are use to and get cheap resources. Strange, but it took me several years here in Russia to understand that I knew hundreds of people and no one used credit from a bank to buy anything (I do know of one friend of Sveta’s and she had a loan to buy a car!
