The positive aspect is that the Russians seem willing to deflate the situation rather than allowing it to escalate. The same can be said for the Chinese and Iran. The West fails to recognize how accommodating their adversaries are towards their immaturity. The responsible adults are not located in the West, but in the East. Except one must question how long the tolerance by the East will last. If the roles were reversed, the West would have psychopathed into sadistic frenzy way before now.
