TRV and what I am doing in this King Corona self-isolation world…

Besides going to take a walk this morning for the first time in two days?

It has snowed and rained for almost three days straight. But right now the weather has softened and it stopped raining. I will hope to take advantage of that and have a walk this morning, but until then lets see how lazy I have been…

Our barn has no cross bracing…

I finally figured out how and what to stabilize our barn with. It hit me after much research that the designs of a typical village barn is a very and I mean very piss poor design. I am confused as to why they would build such huge buildings with such a lack of cross bracing….yet it is the norm for 90% of the village barns I am seeing…

Thus, if given a chance they lean and get unstable easily. Ours was built on a slope and they never even compensated for that slope. Just build it flat on the slope and when new it had to have leaned, yet they did not care…

Now I am not able to pull the barn back upright, yet I am able to stabilize it where it is at. Money and equipment available designates that I utilize what I have and since the barn is still very viable, yet leaning some, I can solidify it in place for reasonable money and one person can do it…

The biggest issue is getting eight 4.25 meter big beams to install as cross braces. I will brace from the front top to the bottom back and create long bolts from threaded rod. Then I can brace from the diagonal beam to the front bottom corner and since the building is already leaning, this will create a new support section for the whole building. The logs for the foundation are about a foot across across and all I have to do is tie into those…

On the front of the barn, the previous owner Nikolai had attempted to brace with wood beams and four steel cross members. The steel cross members look like the frame from an old Soviet combine that the village had dismembered many years ago. They are seriously stout….I will reset these steel beams in concrete and keep them angled against the building as more insurance to the leaning issue. The steel beams are not doing anything right now and the wood beams are all rotted and crumbling…

All this work could have been for naught if when they built the barn, they would have just installed cross braces and created a reinforcement against side to side sheer forces…

I will not be bored…

Yesterday, while it snowed and rained, something interesting happened. Half of the homes electricity stopped working….yes it has been working fine. Yet out of the blue, I was hunting down an issue with the electricity…

Four hours later I had it fixed…

I have no idea how it had worked all these years, but the house was wired wrong. I finally found an obscured connection box and found that someone had wired, well to say the least, wired half-ass backwards. So while it rained and the wind blew like a tornado, I turned off the mains and rewired half the house…

I saw a few days ago that there was a slight flicker in some lights and was worrying about that and now I found the issue. It all works good now and I am still at odds as to how it worked at all…

You got me!

Going to put in two gardens, if it ever stops snowing and raining….One at our Nikolai’s home, big potato patch and one at Sveta’s mothers home. That one will be carrots, lettuce, beets, onions and garlic. Maybe a few tomato’s to give a little help with eating all the lettuce…

As soon as Old man Winter goes to sleep, I will do my gardens…

I still have to acquire seed potatoes and garlic. The rest I have already…

My computer set up in Nikolai’s home…

If you wonder where I write all my dribble from in the Tiny Russian Village?

This image is so true and so many ignore that Trump is this way… (Sveta sent this to me.)

LOL…so true and exactly what I knew he would be like…

When you are given evil in two variations and you have only those two to vote for!

Trump is what you get and or you would have Hillary and God forbid she would be president…

But evil is evil and stupid is stupid and we get what we allow in our lives…. LOL

USA = Iceberg…

I am going to go walk and look at the animals…

Have a nice day!
