Russia reports zero inflation in last week of December | Top Russian news and analysis online | ‘RIA Novosti’ newswire:

prices showed zero growth in the week of December 22 through 28, the Federal Statistics Service said Wednesday.
Rosstat said inflation in the preceding three weeks was 0.4% and 8.8% since the start of the year.
That compares favorably with last December’s inflation of 0.7% and the annual 13.3%.
Furthermore, gasoline retail prices fell 0.5% in the last week of the month.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin hailed ‘record low inflation’ for the year.

With that said: I will say that gasoline for a trip yesterday was 17 rubles a liter. That equates into (1 US gallons = 3.78541178 liters)64 to 65 rubles per gallon. That is about $2.15 per gallon.

Now I use 80 octane in our Volga wagon and she runs like a dream. So I do not need to burn the expensive stuff! 🙂
