I wonder about why anyone needs so much money that they could not spend it all? A trillion dollars?
Now consider how long it would take you to spend $1 trillion dollars. If you spent one dollar every second around the clock, it would take you 312,688 years to spend a trillion dollars. Spending $1 million an hour, non-stop for 24 hours a day, you wouldn’t run out of $1 trillion for 411 years. (I know some women in my past, who would give a trillion dollars a run for its money though…)
Remember when a million dollars was more money than the world? Now a million dollars is considered a poor person. Well this non-millionaire and his sweet pea are poor people and happy to be that poor. For if we had a million dollars, we would travel the world constantly…
Why….Svetochka and I could live the “Life of Riley” and all we need is a $1,000,000 and or actually a whole bunch less…
To live the “Life of Riley” in Russia and or in many other countries around the world, $100,000 dollars would suffice for your whole life….and I mean from birth to death and you would travel, eat good and dance the lights fantastic…
Hmm….you could live off the interest of a million dollars in Russia. Yes Russia pays interest on deposits (10% or so)…
You know? It does not matter if the numbers are skewed somewhat. The fact that over half the worlds populace has less resources of all types than the top nine or ten richest people in the world sucks. Give it a few more years then maybe we can have the top ten richer than everyone! Good idea? No, still sucks…
As of March 2018:
1. Jeff Bezos – $112 billion – United States – Amazon
2. Bill Gates – $90 billion – United States – Microsoft
3. Warren Buffett – $84 billion – United States – Berkshire Hathaway
4. IBernard Arnault – $72 billion – France – LVMH
5. Mark Zuckerberg – $71 billion – United States – Facebook
6. Amancio Ortega – $70 billion – Spain – Inditex, Zara
7. Carlos Slim – $67.1 billion – Mexico – América Móvil, Grupo Carso
8 (and or 9). Charles Koch – $60 billion – United States – Koch Industries
8 (and or 9). David Koch – $60 billion – United States – Koch Industries
10. Larry Ellison – $58.5 billion – United States – Oracle Corporation
That equals 745 billion dollars (Net Worth, not Gross Worth), give or take a few hundred million…
It is all good, Sveta and I have enough. We are far from rich and we struggle to make ends meet many times, but it is all good. We have enough to get by….But when I look at…
World hunger, World water shortage, World illness and World basically just living and it all can be eradicated for much less than what these few people have in net worth. Much less than what they are worth. They would still be stinking filthy rich after feeding the world and they could still have tutu parties anytime they feel like, 24 hours a day…
Don’t worry, these people will never give up all the money they have and we will not ever get it. That is uncivilized and just not capitalistic and or democratic…
We cannot all be rich, for then we would still be poor and the rich would be even richer than us, who are rich…
Just maybe we could feed people, house people and give people proper medical attention all over the world. Just maybe instead of hording money, blowing up other countries and steal resources, just maybe we could help some people, like all of them…
I look at life this way…
Money can buy you a fine dog, but only love can make him wag his tail. – Kinky Friedman
Never worship money and yet we all seem to do just that….though some of us take it to extremes….at the expense of others…
That nasty asking “why thingy” I do… 😉
