55 potato plants in the patch at TRV

Yesterday, before the sandstorm hit and all hell broke loose. I started early and finished the potato patch. 55 potatoes planted and watered. Nice, clear and beautiful day….then…

The day went to hell and I spent six hours trying to save the trees…

Gusts of 40 meters a second winds… (That is 90 mph and I disliked it tremendously!) The Big Village had a better time of it and only got 21 meters a second winds. But we are the highest spot around and kinda like a mountain. the winds always tear us up worse than the valley villages…

Remember we are the ones who have even had cars flipped over…

From Russia: The Russian Village and the Tornado!

I braced all the trees that were pulling out of the ground. I had to hand on to one tree and lean back to keep it from falling over. The wind was that bad and the sky was a sick brown color. Felt like something from a movie and the aliens are coming…

I lost half a maple tree, I will try to salvage what is left…

Both homes came through okay. I was running from one home to the other and bracing trees. Sveta’s mother’s home’s yard did much better than Nikolai’s home did. A bunch less trees… But the fence at Mom’s home had to be repaired this morning in places…

This morning it is raining, so no tilling the other garden today. But I will take rain over what we had yesterday. 😉

How can a day go so bad when it started out so perfect?

Think I will read a book today…
