PATHS: The Russian Tradition!

Today I woke up and felt a little better than normal. I was grumpy, (just ask my Sweetie), but I felt physically better. So I walked my Sweetie, to the bus stop and saw her off. I then walked through the woods back home…

I came across paths, every where there was paths. There was paths crossing paths. There was narrow paths. There was wide paths. There was paths for cars. There was asphalt paths. there was rocky paths. there was dirt paths. There was paths going nowhere. There was paths going to the flats. There was paths going to the freeway crosswalk. There was little paths going to bigger paths. sometimes there was two or three parallel paths going to the same place…

These paths that I took pictures of, were not in a large area. They were within 200 to 300 meters of where I live. Anywhere you walk in Russia you will find paths…

In Russia, if there is not a path going to where you want to go. Make your own path! It is OK!

A path is definitely a “Russian Tradition!”

Flowers, I Found In The Village!

Hello,

I have a passion for flowers, I love to grow them. This year I did not plant any flowers. But I found out that I did not have too. The Village is full of beautiful flowers. Most wild and most considered weeds by Americans. This American, thinks that they are very nice.

This is one of Bears weak spots, Beautiful flowers!!!

Kyle

Americans in Russia??

This is the only picture of the Americans I got! They were all the way across a lake. Sorry!

Hello,

We just came back from the Village,

It was fantastic and we had a surprise at the Village!
The Village was busy there was people everywhere, There was probably 40 people. They were mowing grass and cleaning broken down Village houses. Now that was not the surprise. The surprise was, a group of Americans (about 30) were hiking the woods near the Village and they stayed at my Village!

I am suppose to be the only American around! Now there are as many Americans as Russians.
They were just hiking through and they talked to some of the local village people, The Village people told them that they have their own American, and he stays in the Village with his Wife. So the Village people like having an American they call their own. :))))))))))))))))

We never really met them, just passed. We had no idea that they were all American, I heard multiples of languages when they passed by. So we never really talked. I was surprised when One guy was straggling up the rear of the group, We said hi and he responded “Hello”! I said wow he just said hello. I had not heard that for awhile. Never thought I would hear it in the Village.

So all in all around 70 to 80 people were at the Village. Now that was crowded! The wells were almost dry of water, The grass had paths everywhere. The only cow that lived there could not be found.(I think the Americans Ate It) :))))

This week coming up, there was going to be a wedding party at the Village. So we are going back this weekend to protect our Village House.

All in all, the village trip was wonderful and I am always amazed at what is going on at the Village. This is one of the most unique places on Earth. Where else can I go in Russia and find 30 Americans all in one spot???

Never have my camera when I need it!

Now, if I could find that Cow?

Love this Russian Village!

Putin, Olympic Speech!

You got to hand it to Putin, He speaks better English than most Americans. I was very impressed. I think that Russia can take big advantage of this time and make the most spectacular Winter Olympics that has ever been hosted.

Good Job Putin!

Sochi-2014 Winter Olympics

Hello,The word is Sochi did it!! Looks like President Putin really went all out to impressed the committee. I am really happy that Sochi gets to host the Winter Olympics. Here is an exerpt from a BBC article. The fact that president Putin spoke in English, French, and Spanish, to the committee showed how serious Putin took the task at hand.
Now I can not wait, I want to take my Sweety and go see the Winter Olympics in 2014!!!!

Sochi given 2014 Winter Olympics

Many in Sochi partied all night after hearing the announcement

The Russian resort of Sochi has been chosen to host the 2014 Winter Olympics, beating South Korea’s Pyeongchang.

Sochi secured 51 votes at a meeting of International Olympic Committee (IOC) delegates in Guatemala, beating its South Korean rival by just four votes.

In earlier voting, the third contender, Salzburg in Austria, was eliminated.

The presidents of all three candidate countries had attended the meeting to plead their countries’ cases.

Russian President Vladimir Putin was credited with helping Sochi’s bid, after he addressed delegates in three languages – English, Spanish and French.

It is believed to be the first time the Russian leader has been heard speaking English at a public ceremony.
