I smiled today when Sassy sprang into the news!

Saakashvili was arrested shortly after his arrival and was taken to a correctional facility in the city of Rustavi, located some 25km southeast of the capital Tbilisi. Police footage broadcast by local media shows a large convoy of police vehicles entering the jail’s premises with lights flashing. The handcuffed politician is brought for his perp walk shortly afterwards. Saakashvili appeared to be smiling broadly during this ‘photo opportunity’.

TBILISI, October 1. /TASS/. Georgian ex-President Mikhail Saakashvili, detained in the republic earlier, declared a hunger strike and demanded a meeting with a Ukrainian consul, Georgian ombudsman Nino Lomdzharia said after meeting with Saakashvili Friday. “When I came in, he was at the doctor and was undergoing a medical exam. We were allowed to talk in the prison cell later. Mikhail Saakashvili said that he declares a huger strike,” Lomdzharia said. “He disagrees with the sentences against him and considers himself a political prisoner,” the ombudsman added.

The United States holds 35,230,000,000 barrels of proven oil reserves as of 2016, ranking 11th in the world and accounting for about 2.1% of the world’s total oil reserves of 1,650,585,140,000 barrels.

The United States has proven reserves equivalent to 4.9 times its annual consumption. This means that, without imports, there would be about 5 years of oil left (at current consumption levels and excluding unproven reserves).

Thus, why all the hate against oil rich countries…

The USA has wasted its oil and now wasting its gas…

Father Pavel the head of the monastery at our Tiny Russian Village is working on the issue and is in contact daily with the head of the local electric company. Two men, whom said they are specialists, came yesterday and looked at the situation….they said, “Yup, the pole is dangerous and we cannot even climb it to cut the wires off it!”

Better yet, “Yup it’s broken!”

I just stand there and look around inside my head and wonder about life at that point….for the pole has been bad for many years and the home falling has been rotted more years than that. Yet, you have to smile and thank the experts at their wisdom. For they have all the power (no pun intended) as to whether the pole gets done sooner than later…

So now, since the pole is so bad, cutting wires and doing maintenance is out of the question, now we are in reactive mode, not proactive mode. The electric company has to allocate resources, gather those resources and bring out heavy equipment to replace the pole…

This is that moment that you want to scream, “I have been trying to get you all going for almost two years on this subject!” Yet, that would just make things worse and they would go home and act like that crazy American is well, “That crazy American and what does he know?”

Mornings are crunchy in the Tiny Russian Village and the electric company…

So now I wait again to see how and when and at what speed the gears of the electric company turn as they allocate resources to fix what is an issue that should have been fixed many years ago…

Yet the realization is that it has taken a well connected Father Pavel and his interest to help us get this done, to get it to this point. Then as I was thinking about how slow Russians are. Hell, a snail can out run a Russian trying to decide if they want to work or not…

I remembered years ago in America:

I called the electric company to connect my home to electricity in the USA. I had jumped all hoops and mole hills. I installed the entrance pole myself, the power box myself and buried the cable to the home myself and dealt with all the permits and met all the requirements….everything approved and this was no small feat for the home was in ten buck two and getting someone to come out took weeks at a time…

Finally the power company after a month delay, they had to gather resources you know, came out and found that my pole was one foot to far from the main power pole. They only allow resources for so many feet of main cable. No variance and no leeway!

I stood there and watched these guys pack it all up and they said, “Call when you get it correct!”

So, I started all over and had to get all the same inspectors back, move the pole that I installed and no one could explain why the inspectors had different rules and regulations than the electric company….yet I did it….I was lucky for I had left two feet of excess cable for the entrance at the pole, because I was lazy actually and had only to move the entrance pole closer to the main pole. Yet again, my pole was embedded in a huge concrete base that as per inspectors had to be done. So, moving the pole was not a small feat in itself…

I was done finally and the inspectors were happy. The pole was two feet closer, all approved, the power box was approved, the connections approved and everyone got paid again for permits that had already been paid for once…

This time it took only a week for the power company to come out and they strung the wires to my pole….except they said that a new change had come through and the power box I had installed was not up to the new county codes. Rule number blah blah blah and all that…

Yes you got it:

I called the county inspectors and bought a new entrance power box that met the new since I started this year long project codes, paid the permit fees again and installed the box according to regulations again….and less than a week later the power company came out to finish installing the lines, after one last visit by the county inspector…

Four men came to connect the line that was already to go and they sat for four hours after connecting the line, in their truck and sipped whiskey and blasted the local music station as they enjoyed life….they told me that I did a good job and all looks good…

I went to the home and flipped the breakers in the home box and everything worked perfect. I sat on my porch and listened to the music blasting from the electric truck and said to myself, “What doesn’t kill us makes us better!”

I guess that stupidity and laziness is a world wide thing, better yet a human thing and I just have to smile and thank all the people helping me try to get this issue done…

Thanks Sweetpea and Father Pavel of the monastery, for my Russian command of the language is not near good enough to help me get this done…

I have a porch and maybe soon I can sit on it and listen to the Russian electric guys blast music and sip their vodka for a job well done….better yet, maybe I should buy a case of vodka and entice them to “Get Er Done”…

A normal trip even to the Big Village, which is only 20 kilometers, will entail at least two of these type of drivers. They will drive on your side of the road and not care if you get out of the way or not…

The other day when I went to the Big Village, this woman (about 30 to 40 years old) was on my side of the road and just driving along like she was sightseeing, right at me. I stopped and pulled over to the shoulder. There was not another soul anywhere in sight….she drove by me and never looked at me and never went to her side of the road. She was not weaving and looked calm…I dunno? But I realize that if I did not pull over and or get out of the way, she would have run into to me, there is no doubt in my mind…

I am not sure of this mentality, yet the roads are full of these “Russian Kamikaze Idiots”…

I realize that I have found these types all over the world, but in Russia as per percent of drivers, they are plentiful and dangerous. I dunno…

My solution would be to drag them out of their cars and beat their ass silly and maybe they would learn to quit putting everyone’s lives in danger! Yet I am too old and would get my ass beat instead….These are the same idiots that run crosswalks and stop lights constantly. It is like they have no comprehension of what they are doing behind the wheel of the car…

Other than that most driving is wonderful in Russia…

The power company has finally responded, well somewhat responded….it took Father Pavel the head of the monastery to get some reaction from them. Then they asked a strange thing and yet I did it. They wanted me to get an image of the electric meter….so I crawled around in a collapsing building and did just that….always up for fun!

The old meters make a weird wailing scratching sound constantly. Like an eerie witch singing on the power lines. I call it the stolen souls calling out!

Fell through the floor at one place and verily caught myself from falling all the way into the basement area. Was covered in trash and mud and actually grouchy but a happy bear while acting like a kid… 😉

Not going back that is for sure. The main roof beams are rotted off and as you can see, not much left of the inside….well at least the calendar girls are still looking good!

We have to get this building disconnected from the power lines, for it is beyond doubt that it will fall this winter as the snow piles up and the wires are live to the building and they will rip our lines off our home…

Lets hope today that we hear more about this wonderful situation…

Hungary has signed a new 15-year natural-gas supply deal with Russia’s state-controlled energy giant Gazprom in a move sharply criticized by Ukraine. The agreement was signed by Gazprom and Hungarian energy group MVM executives at the Foreign Ministry in Budapest on September 27, during a visit by the Russian company’s chief Aleksei Miller.

PS: Russia at on numerous occasions has expressed, that the rate structure and agreement to ship gas through Ukraine from Russia runs from “2020 to 2024” and that will not change, until the agreement expires 2024. Like any agreement on expiry, it may or may not be re-negotiated. That remains to be seen. It is basically up to the companies and countries negotiating the new contracts….Ukraine and it’s “Bosses” are just stirring the pot to cause more instability in the region…

So today I go to the Big Village and gather antifreeze, oil filter, oil, new fan temp switch and some other goodies to winterize Sammy. Sammy the Volga has to survive through up to -40 C winters and that means maintenance is vital. Though, I have to say, when it gets that cold, I do not attempt to start her (much less start myself). Just not worth it…

Looks like we will get a break from all the rain, so time to get things done…

Coffee Cup for the EU…

1. Where are all these other gas suppliers since Gazprom fully honors its commitments. The EU has threatened Russia and threatened turn other suppliers because they didn’t want to be tied to Russian gas? Come on, USA! Where is all that fracking gas you were going to supply Europe? What about you, Israel? Qatar? Norway? Others?

2. Maybe Russian gas is not so evil after all, hmm?

Germany’s federal networks regulator BNA said earlier this week that it would decide no later than January 8, 2022, whether it will certify Nord Stream 2 and issue an operating license for the natural gas pipeline.

4. European bureaucrats banned coal, of which Europe has massive quantities, and went to gas and solar power. But then they fought Russia for 20+ years to keep them from building Nord Stream 2 and South Stream gas pipelines. And now facing a gas shortage, naturally, they blame Russia…

6. Ridiculous that they bring up spot market to blame Russia, then arguing that spot market has no bearing on EU…

7. Asia outbid Europe for spot supplies of US natural gas…

9. Maybe if the US and Europe would quit sanctioning, doing everything they can to destroy the Russian economy and trying to change the government in Russia, more gas would flow. Why should Russia kowtow to Western energy demands after the way they have been treated by them? Eventually, supplies of gas and oil will decline and those who hold the biggest reserves will have the others at a disadvantage. We should have been moving closer to Russia, separating them from China instead of driving them into Chinese arms. Short sighted thinking…

10. It’s an obvious ploy by EU to demonize RU. But…I have seen no one provide a concrete answer as to why EU supplies are so tight. Could it be that Georgie and cabal are driving up prices. Same as US. Prices going up. Is it world wide hyperinflation? Anyone have any info?

11. And unless I’m mistaken, Nord Stream 1 is only allowed to pump at 50% capacity due to “monopoly” EU regulations. Now does that make sense?

12. Of course Russia doesn’t want to send gas through pipelines that traverse Ukraine. They are tired of the gas being stolen. If it was your business? Would you use a thief as your stability in business?

13. There’s nothing stopping the Europeans from ordering, and paying for, more gas for delivery. Why expect the Russians to transport it and store it out of good faith when the euros haven’t contracted to buy it? And have treated Russia very very bad over many years…

14. Gazprom can do whatever it wants…

15. Gazprom unquestionably fulfilled all their delivery obligations.

16. It is the undelivered LNG from US and other suppliers in the world the EU is short of…Not Gazprom’s fault that the US put the middle finger to the EU, because price for LNG in Asia is better…

17. Definably not Russia’s fault NS2 was completed a year behind schedule….look at the sanctions and follow the trail…

18. I think you will find that Russia is fulfilling all of its contracts. US meddling in Ukraine (Hunter/Burisma/Big Guy’s 10%), and US sanctions to delay and stop the new pipeline… The Ukrainians don’t pay on time for their gas, and steal it when it suits them. The German route avoids expensive transfer fees on an ageing pipeline. All the Germans need to do is certify the pipeline and the problem is solved…

20. This just highlights the ineptitude of the European Parliament. Perhaps they should investigate unplanned outages at Norway’s Troll Gas Field, one of Europe’s largest. European gas prices surged on Monday, lifted by an unplanned outage at the Troll field offshore Norway and strengthening LNG prices in Asia. The month-ahead TTF and NBP contracts recorded gains of 4.3% and 5.7% respectively on Monday, with both markers remaining in the USD 12/MMBtu range. The rally was pinned on an unplanned outage at the giant Troll field offshore Norway, with flows from Norway to Europe averaging 275 MMcm/d on Monday – significantly lower than the 309 MMcm/d averaged on Friday, according to EnergyScan. 21. So lets see: The EU only allows Gazprom to utilize 50% of pipeline capacity that it owns. Nord Stream 2 is bogged down in certification until someone wakes up and Russia is actually fulfilling all its contracts…

22. The obvious solution appears to be for Europe to buy more Russian gas. It is apparently very late topping up its stock this year: What has it been doing since April? maybe waiting for twice as expensive fracking gas to come over on 1,000,000 new built carriers? Oops…

PS: Updated a few things…

we are trying to keep our power pole from falling and tearing a huge hole in our roof of our village home. The power company is not interested, being that it is their power pole on their right of way, kinda does not make sense to me. Yet, it is an issue that will hurt us in the end…

So….the home that is rotting with live wires attached and these wires are directly in a line pulling against our system, has half collapsed and is about ready to fall completely. This also does not even stress enough about the fire hazard that will ensue due to live wires and a rotting dry home with twenty years of dried grass and weeds surrounding the home……

In Russia you try to get others to do their job, yet you always end up doing it for them…

Just looking around in my morning and evening walks around Russia…

So for the record:

Dear Power Company:

When the home (The home that has been mentioned and the power poles that have been mentioned in several emails sent to you prior. Along with images.) that is near our home falls? The ripped down live power lines will pull our pole down and tear a hole in the roof of our home. This will also start a fire and burn down the village. I would like to get the power wires cut to the falling home to stop what will be a very bad situation for everyone involved.
