I much prefer the attitude and approach of Afghanistan. They don’t pull out their hair trying to navigate the multiple ambitions of foreign countries. They sit back and wait, always ready, for the inevitable invasion – and then obliterate the invaders, their economies and their empires. No politicking about that.
Afghanistan is where empires go to die….and America is still there sinking in the quagmire….just like the Mongol Empire, Tamerlane (Timur) and Mughal Empire, Sikh Empire, British Empire, Soviet Empire and still ongoing; The American Empire…
